who you really are...
Personality: Brandon is a very sociable guy. He actually hates being alone and thrives with social interaction. Not that he can't handle being alone he just would rather be with his friends or family. With that warm smile and a somewhat childish, impish glimpse in his eyes, it doesn't take a lot of time to feel comfortable around Brandon. He is very friendly and polite. He has always been one to look past glaring imperfections and disabilities. Those don't matter to him. He's always willing to give people a chance. After all it’s a person’s heart that really matters in the long run.

If there was only one word to be used when describing Brandon, it would be honest. He doesn’t hide his feeling or opinions from anyone. He tells you how exactly how he feels and what his opinions on things are and if you don’t like it, then that’s your problem and not his. Those he isn't mean spirited about it. Like if your dress doesn't look the best, he isn't going to go blurt it out to the world. But if your acting like an idiot or a child, then he had no qualms about telling you so. The Canadian could really care less what other people think about him. He is who he is and he’s not going to change that for anyone. This can sometimes make him come off as cold and somewhat harsh to someone who isn’t used to it, but in actuality he’s a sweetheart.

And once he has an opinion about something, its next to impossible for someone to make him change his mind. He doesn't budge on it for nothing. He's worse then super glue. He gets this stubbornness from his dad. He can be rather close minded about some things which can make him seem arrogant at times though he tries awful hard not to be. If you don't ask him what his opinion is, then he won't tell you. He tries not to let his opinions and thoughts dictate his actions. He knows not everyone is going to agree with him and he refuses to push his thoughts onto someone.

History: Brandon was born to a well off family in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The city was well known for its many festivals and rodeos. And many, many people flowed in and out of the town during festival time especially during the Calgary Stampede. Every year, it was always a rather big deal for them as they earned a lot of money during that ten day period. For several generations, the Dirteater family was (and still is) well known for the bucking broncos that they bred and raised for all of the yearly bareback and saddle bronc competitions. It had been a family business for a rather long time and though the work was hard and hours long, they wouldn't have it any other way. When he was younger, Brandon spent untold amounts of time learning everything he could about how to take care of the horses, clean the stables, how to safely travel with them, and the ins and outs of the competitions. He had always been a quick and eager study. Brandon was meant to have taken over the business when he had gotten old enough...but things changed.

It was when he started high school that he realized that maybe he had other interests then the family business. It was then he found his absolute love for music. Any kind of music really...he didn't care. He just loved it. And with his teacher’s encouragement, he wanted to do something with it. Brandon just loved strumming the strings to the acoustic guitar and letting all the stress and worries of the day float away with each note. And just as with the horses, he was eager to learn all that he could. And man he couldn't wait to go home and tell his parents all about it. His mom was real happy for him, his sister rather indifferent at that moment (she was off doing her own things and never really cared about what he did)...but his dad...well he wasn't as appreciative of this new interest to say the least...

You see Brandon's dad is a very stubborn man He's the kind who isn't happy doing things any other way except his way. He also wants to keep the business going for as long as he possibly can. It was his dream and he wasn’t about to let it go up in smoke for nothing! So when Brandon came home with all these musical stories, ideas and plans, he was quick to remind him of what he was supposed to be doing. He was quick to shoot down his son’s ideas. He had Brandon’s future planned out for him already (course Brandon had no say in it) and that wasn’t part of it and so that wasn’t going to happen. This led to a lot of arguments between father and son and you could easily see and feel the tensions growing between them. Brandon couldn’t understand why his dad couldn’t be supportive of him. And his dad couldn’t understand why his son wanted to do anything else. Wasn’t the family’s business important to him? Kelsey and Anna never took sides though they were always there to listen and that helped Brandon more then he would ever admit.

But the stress, tension and pressure were starting to get to Brandon. More then he ever would let on. He wasn't happy with the way things were at all. It got so bad that at one point, it was starting to even affect his personality too--making him more angry and prone to snap at people. And he hated that more then anything, but he wasn't exactly sure what to do. It was after hearing a rather intense argument with his mom and dad that he knew what he was going to do now. The day after he turned 18, and with a rather long note of explanations, good wishes and an apology to his dad, he left with a visa card and two thousand dollars to his name. He figured that without him around, he could pursue the career that he wanted without his dad breathing down his neck and maybe things there would settle down without him around. This of course infuriated his dad, who has been looking for him ever since. But Brandon had purposely left out where he was going so that he wouldn't be found.

He was sick of his dad being so stubborn. And he was definitely sick of what it was doing to their relationship. He really hated the fact that they weren’t speaking to each other and when they did it just ended up in a fight. And he just needed some time away from that. So he ran--crossing the U.S. border (legally of course) and becoming a nomad. He roamed around for months until he came to the islands. He hopped from island to island never staying for more then a couple of months. He had embraced the nomadic tendencies now. Exploring new things seemed like fun. For now he lives in Isla de Los Lobos. He's heard of the lycans that live there but he doesn't count on being there for too long as he never stays in one place long to begin with. He also figured that it was the last place his dad would look for him if he actually went looking for him. Cause he didn’t see that going over so well. It was good enough for him. So this is where we find him now...planning out where he's going next though he might find himself sticking around Isla de Los Lobos a bit longer then he had planned.
