Trying not to disrupt the still-naked form beside him, Henry stretched his arm above his head so he could reach his pants, which were thrown at the foot of an end table. Vinna had been quite enthusiastic about taking them off, and had nearly upended everything on the table when she'd thrown them. The tall, dark haired baker's daughter sighed and wrapped her arm around his waist a little tighter and he gave up on his pants. He'd have to extricate himself first, and hopefully before her father got back from purchasing his goods. The sunlight was rising through the sitting room window, bathing both of their bodies in golden light. Henry really didn't want to move quite yet, but he knew how angry fathers could get when someone deflowered their daughter.
Slowly and carefully as he could manage, he gently laid Vinna's arm on the pillow next to her face. Next, he worked on their entangled legs, inching himself away from her without jostling her around. Once he'd successfully extricated himself, Henry silently bounded to his feet and snagged the pants that had been crumpled tantalizingly out of his reach only moments before. It was silly how he felt like he'd just bested his pants in a duel, but they'd been giving him trouble all day. He vowed to change into new ones once he got back to his rooms. Glancing around for his shirt, he pulled he cursed things on.
After dressing, Henry left the human woman smiling in her sleep and headed out into the storefront. Her father, the court baker, strode in the back door of the shop moments later, and Henry stiffened slightly, refusing to smooth the wrinkles out of his clothes. The baker, Edric, eyed him for a moment before making a formal bow and greeting. Henry mentally rolled his eyes, knowing the formality was just to appease the King. Nobody wanted to incur King Vaan's displeasure by disrespecting his son. However, Henry didn't think that courtesy extended to angry fathers.
He nodded to the man and made a show of browsing the freshly baked goods on display. He wasn't really hungry, but it was much better to keep the man occupied. It wouldn't be good to have him wondering where his daughter was. It would be even worse if he went to go look for her. Henry pointed out a scone that looked delectable and stood quietly as Edric retrieved it. And now it was now time to head back and send flowers to Elina. One thing he'd remembered about her was that she liked romance. Henry could do romance if it suited his purposes. He turned to leave, his steps a little lighter than before.

There was something about an early morning run that usually got the woman in a good mood. Not as good of a mood as morning sex did with one of her mates, but it was up there on the short list of things. The run usually helped her get some of the anger and extra energy burnt off. Granted even if she did a run each morning whether it was in her wolf form or in human form, it seemed that the young woman could always find energy to get herself worked up over something. No matter how tired she could be, the woman would find the strength to hold her own in a challenge no matter what. It just seemed as if there was always a constant energy source ready to spring when the woman needed it. Which given how often she seemed to get herself into trouble, was quite frequently. Having woken up before dawn this morning, Nix found herself wanting to engage in a good room. After untangling herself from her mates and the bed, she had taken off into the woods.
The run was refreshing and given the change was coming soon the woman knew she would need it more and more. With her small size, the lycan was able to pick up a great bit of speed as she dashed in between the different trees in the woods. Once the sun finally came up, Nix decided to head back towards the palace figuring it would be a good idea to finally start her day. Changing into something casual, a pair of black jeans, a red top and a jacket, the lycan headed back to the palace having emerged from the woods on the grounds. While she slowly strolled towards the doors, the woman’s hungry seemed to get the better of her. Her stomach growled at not having had any food since the other night and Nix had to curse at it softly before making a small detour. She wasn’t too far from the Bakers’s house and knew the man had several things already made that she could help herself to tide her over for now.
Raking her slender fingers through her blond hair, Nix pushed the door to the house open just as it seemed someone was leaving. She only made it halfway into the place when the young lycan was forced to stop before she was plowed down by someone. Looking up, the feisty woman could not help but roll her eyes when she found herself face to face with Prince Henry. Of all the people she could run into while getting something to snack on. Realizing this wasn’t really a place he would be bothering going unless it meant getting something out of it, caused Nix to frown for a moment her mind clicking as she realized why he might actually be here. Her mouth opened for a moment to throw out one of her usually banters to the man about not being able to keep it in his pants before she looked over towards Edric who she realized was in the room at the moment. Biting her tongue for the moment, she put on her best smile. “Your Grace, fancy seeing you here this early. I trust all is well?” she asked side stepping out of the doorway to let him through if need be.

Henry looked down at the scone in his hand, intending to bite into it when he was nearly run over. Instinctively, he held out his hands to steady whoever it was and looked up in time to see Lady Phoenix roll her eyes. He grinned widely at her reaction. They'd been friends many years ago, and had practically grown up together. Henry had screwed all that up by trying to sweet talk her into his bed. After she'd shot him down, violently, she'd seemed to have taken a great disliking to him. He hadn't lied to her, exactly. He'd merely bent the truth a little here and there. For some reason, she'd thought every word he'd ever spoken before or after that had been a blatant lie, too.
Instead of grinning back at him or punching him like he expected her to, she frowned as if she just realized where she was. Then she opened her mouth as if she was going to use her words this time, but she stopped and glanced around his shoulder. Henry knew Edric was back there, probably listening to every word they said. Now would be a perfect time for her to get a good insult in if she was in a mind for it. Instead she surprised him by greeting him formally. He raised an eyebrow at her courtesy and have her a slight bow. "Lady Phoenix. I'm quite well. Just stretching my legs after a long morning of doing absolutely nothing as usual. And yourself?"
As she stepped out of the way, Henry moved past her, eager to be away from the baker's probing gaze and sharp ears. He strode along casually, though. No need to make anyone suspicious. Although, now that he thought about it a moment, perhaps being within earshot of the baker was a good thing. He could practically feel the insults waiting on Phoenix's tongue. He knew he was in for it, and mentally fortified himself. Most of the time, if someone thought he didn't care about what they said, they wouldn't say it. Unfortunately, Phoenix was one of the exceptions. She spoke her mind regardless. Without turning toward her, he said, "Alright, let me have it. You know you want to."

Tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear Nix hummed to herself finding the morning to have started off well so far. She had been able to get in a nice run in the woods not to mention burn off a bit of energy. Maybe it would help so that the young woman wouldn’t lose her temper so much. Granted after so much time being how she was, the young woman might have realized by now that it really wasn’t something she could change about herself. Not that she wanted to, her mother had been the same way and Nix was proud to have inherited such a strong trait from the woman. After all, it meant she wasn’t weak; it gave her confidence as well as a leg up in life. She wouldn’t be someone who would back down from anything and in a pack of wolves that always showed strength, even if it wasn’t always physical. Her two husbands were the muscle in their relationship and the young lycan preferred it that way. She was too small to really have physical strength. It was how the world worked and so far she was happy with how things balanced in her life.
Hoping to merely get a pastries from the Baker, Nix hummed as she pushed the door open not really expecting anyone to actually be there at this time. Most people seemed to either be sleeping in during the early hours of the day or they were simply being too lazy to get up out of bed. On a good day, Nix could also be found in her bed, unwilling to get up. Having two mates made early starts to a day impossible given that when she woke up half the time, they were already quite enthusiastic leading to some welcomed fun. Those mornings often ended up with Nix crawling out of her bed close to noon but that did give Katlin time off to herself. When her eyes finally caught sight of Henry, she could not help but be surprised. For one the man was up early in the morning and two he was out getting something for himself. Having been friends with the Prince a while back, she knew a few things about him and the whole situation before her was completely out of his character. For one, he did not get up this early, let alone head out all this way to get himself a mere pastry, not when he had servants to fetch him such things. No this could only mean one thing and that was Henry’s inability to keep it in his pants.
The moment the woman had come to this conclusion, she had wanted to comment. Oh how it was killing her not being about to speak her mind freely as she usually did. However, with how closely Edric seemed to be watching them, the young woman did not want to risk seeming to be disrespectful, no matter how close friends they had once been. Despite their bickering and banters when they ran into each other in private, Nix knew how to behave when she ran into the Prince in public. Right now, she had to hold her tongue and keep the comment stored away for a later date when she could finally express it. “I am merely coming back from a morning run. It seems that a snack is in order.” she added side stepping around him before walking completely into the house. Looking around at the pastries already set out, the young woman smiled at the baker before paying for two custard cakes. As odd as it seemed, the young woman found a liking for the dessert, especially in the mornings when they were hot and fresh. She could hear the door of the house closing as Henry made his exit while she got the dessert she was looking for.
Once everything was settling, the Lady of Fairnix thanked the man before making her way out of his house. Thinking that Henry would be far along by now, she was once again surprised to find the man merely a few paces a head of her walking as if he wasn’t trying to put as much distance between himself and the house. Hearing him stating that she should let him have it only caused her to quicken her own pace a bit in order to catch up to him. “Do you not have any other function? Honestly the Bakers daughter? Have you no shame she is a mere child.” she threw his way, her words coming out full force now that they were a distance away from prying eyes and ears. When it came to letting her opinions known, Nix could not hold her tongue for very long. “Not to mention if he finds her in the state you have probably left her in, he could put two and two together. Prince or not he will not be too happy.” she added before taking a bite out of the custard cake in her hand.

Henry's jeans had a strange zippered pocket on the right thigh that rubbed painfully as he walked. Whoever had designed them should be maimed. Henry scoffed to himself. Most likely they had been designed by a human on the mainland and discreetly shipped here to Wolf Island. He tugged at the material in question before giving up. It was a useless battle, but he might have fun setting the pants on fire later. Better yet, he'd find himself another woman and let her amuse herself with them. Henry ran through his options. Lillian was too easy. Zia, too eager. Perhaps he'd give it another shot with Sarafelle. She had a fiery personality and liked to play with matches. He'd been given the rough side of her tongue the last time he'd tried to get her into a bed. Perhaps not Sarafelle. More likely than not, she'd offer to burn his pants with him still in them. It was unfortunate that Morgan wasn't nearby, having gone to visit with her family on the other side of the island.
Unbidden, Henry's thoughts turned to Elina once again. Now there was a lycan who could take his mind off of things. If she offered to burn his pants with him in them, he might just let her. He wouldn't put it past her, either. Not that she would actually do it, but she would want to see his reaction. He replayed their last encounter in his mind and his slight grin turned into a scowl. Maybe he'd stay away from her after all. He couldn't trust himself around her in more ways than one. He'd cross her off of his list and go on about his business. It was for the best. Henry repeated that to himself in his mind, hoping that he'd start to believe it.
He was brought out of his thoughts when Phoenix caught up to him. He raised an eyebrow at her as she started her tirade, but said nothing and let her finish. He most certainly did have another function. He just couldn't think of it at the moment. Phoenix went on to tell him what a fool he was among other things. Henry waited patiently until she took a bite of what looked like a custard something or other. She seemed to be finished for the moment, but he knew it would only last until he opened his mouth. He did it anyway. "She's nineteen. An adult by lycan and human standards both. I didn't see the harm in it." He shrugged, completely not apologetic. "As for her father, he won't find out. At least not unless she tells him. Did you bother to see what he had carried in? Supplies. More importantly, specific supplies as though he's been given a large order. I'm sure he'll be at it all day."
Henry continued walking for a few steps before he stopped and cocked his head at Phoenix. He studied her for a moment, ignoring the powered sugar on her nose. "Alright, she was a bit young. She has ambitions for court, but really has no idea what she's getting herself into. I figured I could gain some companionship and teach her a bit at the same time." He left out the part about his lesson being leaving her without a word. Court was a cruel place, and Vinna would need to figure that out if she was ever going to be a part of it. His only slight regret was that she'd never had a man before him. "Do you want me to apologize?" He raised an eyebrow at the woman in front of him. "I could go back in there, tell Edric what happened and apologize to him, too." Henry stood, eyebrow still raised, and waited patently for Phoenix's reaction.

There was no doubt in the young woman’s mind about what it was that brought the Prince this far out at such an early morning. They had been friends since they were young despite the gap between their ages. However, with them both being part of court, her being part of one of the five houses and him being of the Royal family, it was hard not to know the man. They used to be friends at one point in time for a good long while as well. She knew enough about his habits and ways to figured out easily that he had been there to bed the man’s daughter rather than getting himself a fresh scone. The fact that the baker hadn’t actually been able to figure such things out were a wonder seeing as the Prince tended to have an interesting reputation. At a point Nix thought it might be a good idea to let the man know of his daughters deflowering but as much as she disliked Henry, she didn’t think that it would be wise to say anything. It had been why she waited until they were outside and far enough that he wouldn’t overhear their conversation. Luckily the man was human and couldn’t hear as well as a lycan would.
Looking back on how things had been before their falling out as friends, the young woman sometimes wondered how they had been friends in the first place. Knowing that all he ever wanted was to get into her pants really made all that more annoying. Now that she was married it shouldn’t really bother her that much but it did because it meant there never was a friendship just a con. The woman still disliked the man feeling he was simply a royal ass. Despite her dislike for the man now, she knew how she was supposed to behave around him when they were in public. When it was just the two of them she could say just about anything to him that came to her mind. However, when in public only certain comments could slide and she knew that. The woman was part of court and despite her temper she always acted as she should. After all once her father was gone it would be her job to take over his position and that meant having people respect her not just because she was born into the position sorta speak.
Waiting till she got outside and a good distance caught up with the older man, Nix let her thoughts be heard as she was known to do. After all these years it was a surprise if Henry wasn’t waiting for her to rant and get it over with. The little speech of hers was too the point seeing as she was hungry and the custard tart in her hand was calling to her. The woman might dress to impress but she wasn’t about to diet or avoid foods she wanted to eat in order to look at certain way. If her mates had a problem with that they would have said so a long time ago. “She is still a child compared to you. And you don’t see the harm in any of the woman you’ve bedded not to mention just about anything you do. One of these day’s your careless ways will come back to bite you in the ass Henry.” she warned before finishing off the custard tart in her hands. The woman had been eating a lot more than she normally did but that was just waved off for the amount of runs she had been going on in the morning.
Dusting her hands of any crumbs still on them, the woman made sure they were clean before tucking some blonde hair behind her ear. Listening to Henry trying to rationalize just about anything he did was quite entertaining. There were times the young woman could only laugh at how he tried to convince not only someone else but himself of such ridiculous rationalities. “Right and what did you teach her about court? That you need to bed the right people in order to gain any position? Because if you haven’t noticed you’re the only one sleeping around.” she asked curiously wondering what his rationality would be to that. What came next caused Nix to raise an eyebrow as she crossed her arms over her chest stopping when he did as well. Sighing, she rolled her eyes at his offer to apologize. “As much as I hate you I rather not have him trying to kill you for violating his daughter. I rather like his baked goods and prefer not to have him leave.” she pointed out rolling her eyes knowing that Henry wouldn’t actually apologize if she said for him to do so anyways. She was a tad bit cranky about the whole sleeping around thing lately with everything that happened with Gabe in the last little bit. Only a handful of people knew or so she hoped.

Henry walked rather slowly. Despite the fact that Nix hated him, he'd come to enjoy their occasional bantering. She was like him in one way at least. She spoke her mind and very little could hold her tongue in check. It was a trait he admired in her. He almost regretted pushing her away all those years ago and he missed her friendship dearly, but he knew it was for the best for both of them. He could live with her hating him. Hell, he'd done it on purpose. He'd known her well enough back then that to know that coming on to her would set her off. The ploy had worked brilliantly and she could still be heard grinding her teeth when she was around him. Still, he sometimes missed being able to confide in her. He hadn't confided in anyone in years, and rarely regretted that choice. Usually, when he did, it involved Phoenix.
Even after Henry had admitted to what he'd been doing in the bake house, Phoenix still gave him a hard time and he grinned. “She is still a child compared to you. And you don’t see the harm in any of the woman you’ve bedded not to mention just about anything you do. One of these day’s your careless ways will come back to bite you in the ass Henry.” Henry laughed out loud, startling a roosting sparrow nearby. "It's possible, but I'm careful. Jeez, I haven't had anyone try to give me the sex talk since I was still a pup." He smirked at her and kept walking, knowing he was probably getting under her skin. Phoenix dusted off her hands and tucked a bit of blonde hair behind her ear, but Henry remained silent, knowing she wasn't finished.
“Right and what did you teach her about court? That you need to bed the right people in order to gain any position? Because if you haven’t noticed you’re the only one sleeping around.” Henry stayed silent on that count. He most certainly wasn't the only one sleeping around, and he was pretty sure Nix knew it. He'd heard a rumor that one of her mates, Gabriel, had gotten another lycan woman pregnant. It took everything he had not to make a comment about it. Then again, perhaps he would, but he knew it would upset her if the rumor happened to be true. Just because he'd distanced himself from the workings of the court didn't mean he was completely oblivious. He still heard things, and he still had a few people who would pass him tidbits of information on occasion.
Henry sighed. "Not apologizing sounds like a good plan to me. I mean, the scone was a little dry, but still good." To say something, or not to say something? That was the question. He walked a few more steps in silent contemplation. He might as well say something. Phoenix hated him anyway. "And we both know that I'm not the only one sleeping around." He gave her a meaningful look to punctuate his remark. "Apparently, having two mates was too much for you to handle." He continued walking, fairly confident that even if the rumor was true, she wouldn't attack him outright. Not in public at least.

There was one thing that most people seem to hate and that was Nix ability to simply tell people like it is. She didn’t like lying and it meant her answers often came out as brutal honesty. Most people could not handle that about her but there were few who got surprised anymore. It was probably why Henry had waited for her to say something when he left the Baker’s house. Given how long they had known each other it was inevitable that she would give the Prince a piece of her mind, even if it meant showing respect at the same time. “I am not giving you a sex talk. I am merely warning you that karma has a way of sneaking up on people.” she pointed out knowing that something would eventually happen whether it was getting and STD or knocking some poor girl up. Whichever it was she would still laugh at it because Henry deserved being thrown off his high horse once in a while.
Nix only rolled her eyes at everything that Henry was saying. She had expected this kind of talk from him and it seemed that he didn’t have anything new when it came to his answers. It only proved to her that some people really couldn’t change no matter what happened. After so many years knowing the Prince, it was a wonder she even got surprised at some of the asinine things he did. As expected she knew he wouldn’t apologize no matter who told him to, well except maybe the King. But that was a different story he was the King and could do just about anything really. The next words that came out of his mouth caused the Lady of Fairnix to stop and stare at him in disbelief. She knew he was an ass but to bring up something as sensitive and private as her current conflicts with one of her mates, was downright low. The surprise only lasted for a split second before the anger flared in her eyes. It boiled over taking control of her whole body. The woman was known for her short temper and the fact that Henry was pushing the wrong buttons right now didn’t help at all.
Her blue eyes darkened as the rage took over fully her wolf instincts coming out full force as she watched the Princes retreating back. Prince or not Henry was an insensitive jerk and Nix would not stand for that. She didn’t not care who he was he was not going to be walking all over her. Growling, the young woman watched the man’s retreating back. ”You insensitive jerk! You know nothing about what happened between my mates and I!” she yelled before snarling and breaking into a run. The woman might not be strong but she had speed and agility on her side meaning the distance between them was crossed shortly. Not caring that they were out in public, the young lycan leaped off the ground throwing herself onto the retreating man’s back. Her legs latched onto his waist so as not to get thrown off and she wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, holding him in headlock.

“What do you mean he wasn’t here all night?” Dawn’s voice roared at the incompetent guard who was supposed to have kept an eye on Henry while towering over the lycan who could only cower in the wake of the Captain’s rage. It was one thing for the Prince to have been out for a few hours on his own, it was another for him to be gone all night, because there was no doubt in her mind what the young male was up to. Or who he was going down on. No one was naive enough to not realize what the Prince did with his free time. Even King Vaan wasn’t oblivious to the carnal pleasures his son took part in, that man was only ignorant to whom his son was screwing around with. “Captain, I -” “Shut up, Turner! Go see, Angel, maybe he can smack some brains into your head. I don’t have time for these games.” However, Dawn reached over and back handed the guard, leaving an imprint of her knuckles on his cheek. The male turned his eyes down to the ground before nodding and leaving the Captain alone. She was going to kill Henry as soon as she got her hands around that idiot’s neck. There were far too many things going on in her mind to have to hunt him down just because he couldn’t keep it in his pants for one damn night! She was trying to sort thought her own feelings for Vaan, keep him safe, try not to murder Adrienne, and make sure the palace was secure to prevent someone from walking in and killing the royal family. Storm down the hall, her boots stomped on the tiles alerting everyone the Captain was on the move. Her nose was locked on the lingering scent around the hall the prince’s room was located. Pausing, her nose took a long good sniff around his door before locking in on his musky scent which lead her out of the palace naturally. That didn’t surprise her; if it had led her to anywhere else she would have been shocked. Huffing under her breathe, her nails curled into her fist keeping on the Prince’s scent passing by countless members of court and servants. All made sure to keep out of her way because the Captain wasn’t in the mood to weave around others, she wanted to grab the Prince, throw him to his father and get back to work. It didn’t take long for her nose to pick up on Henry’s scent heavily coated around the Baker’s shop causing her to run a hand over her face. Honestly? The baker’s daughter? Did he have a death wish? Taking another sniff, she noted that he had moved away from the shop, along with another female. Lady Phoenix? That puzzled her deeply since they never seemed to be on the best terms. A large scream alerted Dawn that someone wasn’t having a good day; it worried her since Henry was in there and had a tendency to bring out the worst in anyone. Running to the source, she saw the strangest sight her eyes had seen in a very long time. The lady had latched herself to the prince’s back like some leech with her arms tightly wound around his neck like a noose. “Lady Phoenix. I will advise you to release the prince. I would hate to have to hurt you. Your mates wouldn’t be too happy with me.” Dawn’s hand shot out and gripped the back of the lady’s neck so her nails were digging into her wind pipes. As much as she disliked Henry’s ways and all the frustration he put his family through, she would protect the moron to her last breathe.

Henry heard Phoenix yell behind him, but he didn't stop or turn. Her reaction was to be expected and it just confirmed that the rumor was true. She sounded furious, but that was the point, he supposed. He shrugged mentally and dimly heard pounding feet behind him. It wasn't an unusual sound in the market, but something about it made him want to flinch. It was a strange thought. Nobody would so much as run into him for fear of offending someone of the royal family. The next thing he knew, Phoenix was latched onto his back like a monkey with her arms wrapped around his throat. Stumbling, Henry tried to spin, but she was hooked on tight. He let out a sigh. This was not what he had planned for this morning.
Phoenix wasn't quite strong enough to cut off his air, but she was still strong. His hands came up and wrapped around her wrists by instinct, but he didn't pull her away. He was almost enjoying this display of outrage from her. "So it's true, is it?" He tried to smirk but it came out more like he was choking so it was probably better that Phoenix couldn't see it. "Which one was it, Drake or Gabriel?" That's it. Encourage the raging woman into further rage. It wasn't like it mattered anyway. He was stronger than she was, though he didn't want to hurt her. "Oh, or was it both?" Now that would have been something. Perhaps that was the case. Of course, Phoenix always did have a temper. That didn't mean both of her mates were cheating on her.
Henry moved his hand with the intention of prying her leg off of him, when he heard a familiar voice behind him. He laughed out loud past the squeezing of Phoenix's arms. Dawn could be a thorn in his side sometimes, but she did her job. Idly, he wondered how she found out that he'd been out of the palace all night, or if she'd simply been in the right place at the right time. That second option was unlikely. Dawn rarely did anything that didn't have to do with work. Still, the fact that he was being "rescued" by a woman chafed his ego a bit.
There was a tugging sensation that almost caused him to take a step back, and he assumed Dawn was doing her "rescue" thing. Well, he was feeling rebellious this morning. "Relax, Captain. It was my fault. She just reacted more strongly than I expected. Although, I shouldn't have assumed that she'd let it go when I teased her about one of her mates getting another female pregnant." He grinned and thought about biting Nix in the arm, but decided against it. At the moment, words were so much more fun. "Apparently, the rumor is true... isn't it Nix?" And, oh, how she hated it when he called her that. Maybe he'd get some entertainment watching Dawn and Phoenix go at it.

The longer that Nix stood there watching Henry’s retreating back, the more anger and rage seemed to boil through her being. She hated people interfering in her business let alone someone like Henry. The man might be Prince of the Lycan’s right now but she sure as hell did not hold any respect with her. She merely showed it when it was needed but the woman did not see him gaining any from her anytime soon. It didn’t help that he seemed to continue causing her to hate him more and more. Not only was her hate for Henry coming out, but she was also channeling the hate she had for the woman Gabe had slept with.
Nix tightened her hold around the man’s neck finding that her rage was giving her a lot of strength right now. It wasn’t anything matched to his, but it was giving her limbs enough power to hold on to him preventing anyone from throwing her off. She was lost to the rage wanting nothing more than to rip the man’s throat out. How could he push her buttons like that in middle of so many people knowing how the whole place gossiped? Not to mention it was none of his business. For some reason the young woman thought that Henry underestimated her. She might show him respect in public when it was needed but she was defiantly not going to let him walk all over her. No that was not something she let anyone do and that was why she held a spot as an alpha not just because of her father being alpha and head of their pack.
The only thing on her mind right now was to get a good hold and to rip the man’s head off for even brining up her mates and the problems they were having. She didn’t care at all that she could have a fleet of guards on her any moment or that if someone saw they would spread it around to the whole court. Henry was a jerk and Nix was not going to take it. The man continuing to taunt her and push her buttons only caused the rage to boil over more as she growled loudly digging her nailed into his shoulder using the hand she had free that wasn’t currently wrapped tightly around his neck. “You might be Prince but you have no right to stick yourself into my business!” she growled louder before feeling the unmistaken able feeling of nails digging into her neck.
Her head whipped around to the side looking over at Dawn who seemed to find that exact moment as the time to appear and save the man’s hide. It seemed he couldn’t do anything without needing aid. Looking at Dawn her eyes flared with rage as she growled loudly at the woman not needing her there right now. “Back off Captain this is not your fight!” she told her snaring at the older woman. Turning her attention back to Henry the woman tried getting at him using her own low blows. “Coward, can’t even fight me without having your guards trying to control me. Weak that’s what you are Hen, always have been.” she threw back feeling the other woman trying to pry her off his back.
Nix knew that Dawn got her job for a reason and that meant she would be pulled off in a matter of minutes no matter how much rage she was fighting with right now. Just as she was about to give up the last words left Henry’s mouth causing the rage to completely make her go over the edge. “Don’t call me that!” she growled before tightening the arm she had around him before the enraged woman sank her teeth into his neck. No matter how much the nails in her neck were constricting her air right now her rage was pumping a lot of adrenaline through her body causing her not to notice. She was determined to rip the man’s neck open spilling blood because of how he was pissing her off. Normally a bite wouldn’t really do much but with how pissed of Nix was right now she completely lost control as she dug her teeth and nails into the man’s flesh drawing blood. When the pain on her wind pipe finally registered in her head, Nix let her legs drop before she pulled away from the man her teeth dragging along his neck as she dropped to the floor, ripping a nice chunk of flesh as she went.
Stumbling back away from him for a moment, the young woman pushed Dawn’s arm away now that she was off the Prince. Snarling, the young lycan spat out the chunk of flesh between her teeth along with some blood as she continued to glare at him, her eyes flaring wondering if she could get another good chunk out of him before Dawn would stop her again.

The way the two lycans were acting disgusted Dawn while watching Lady Phoenix try to claw the prince to pieces with her nails and teeth. The woman was beyond enraged making her wonder what the little prince had said to cause such a reaction in a woman. There wasn’t a single doubt hovering in her brain of whose fault it was for the way the normally fiery but calm Phoenix was behaving. Henry pushed people’s buttons when he thought things weren’t going his way, he used those tacstics taught to him by his father and even the Chancellor to manipulate those around him to be his own little toys. It annoyed the older woman to the point she was tempted half the time to slap him a few times before castrating him, something King Vaan would need to do to get his son under control. Not physically castrate him, but the principito needed something to lock his manhood in his pants for a change.
“You made it my business when you attacked the Prince. Now get off him.” Dawn’s voice no longer dipped down to prevent it from being oddly making anyone want to bend to her will. It was rare she didn’t purposefully trying to keep her voice a key lower since she didn’t like having men fall at her feet like pups begging for milk however the situation was getting out of hand. The lady needed to get a hold of herself before the Captain had to do something she might regret…at a later date. The scent of Henry’s blood caught her attention causing her to growl in the Lady’s ear a clear warning to stop her from causing any more damage to the prince. Her own nails were digging into Phoenix’s neck bring her blood to the surface trying not to take insult to Henry’s need of a guard to watch over him constantly.
“Principito, shut the hell up!” Snarling over her shoulder , she gave Henry a glare to tell him to keep his mouth shut for the next few minutes. Why did he insist on adding fire to the flames raging inside Phoenix? If she didn’t know better, she’d say he was doing it on purpose as if he got some sort of sick pleasure out of seeing his once childhood friend screaming and snarling at him. The more she thought about that, the more it seemed plausible for how his mind operated. It seemed Phoenix had enough of the prince speaking and before Dawn could calculate the best way to extract her from the male, her teeth ripped into his neck without any signs of mercy. As her other hand came up to knock her out, the lady released her hold over the idiot taking with her a hunk of his flesh. Mass quantities of blood flowed from his neck to the ground but Dawn wasn’t too worried about it. The Prince would heal if he kept a good hold over the wound for a little while.
Forced to release Phoenix’s neck, Dawn stepped between her and Henry leaving no room to jump the Prince again. One time was more than she was allowed to severely bring about injury to the prince. Her job was clear in her eyes, protect the prince at all cost. Her eyes were cold, dark, and every ounce the warrior she’d been born as while her nails seemed to grow straight out of her fingertips. It was a practice that had taken years to work out, but she was able to command her claws in her human form without losing her mind to her sister wolf.
“My lady, he is not worth your anger. Don’t make me hurt you. Because between the two of you, my loyalty is to the moron behind me first after his father.” Shaking her head, Dawn tried to reason with the lady not sure if she was qualified to be a peacemaker since she normally started fights but to keep Henry’s head on his shoulders the Captain would have to try. Following the string of bloody spit from the woman’s mouth, she pondered on letting Lady Phoenix finish the job on the prince. They could easily make it look like an accident while only having to bribe a few people in the crowd. The urge to punch herself overcame the Captain when that thought dared to cross her mind so cutely. She was a trained guard and the leader of the guards, not some woman to get emotional about Henry spitting insults at a lady.

Henry was divided over what he was doing. On one hand, he was infuriating Phoenix, driving her even further away from him which was a good thing. He was confirming her belief that she hated him. He was pushing her buttons, giving her a good solid reason to never speak to him again. On the other hand, he knew he was hurting someone he'd once considered a friend and that pained him. Deep down, he knew it was none of his business. She loved both of her mates dearly, and the thought that one of them would cheat on her... it had to hurt her. Still, he taunted her, driving her crazy with her rage. After years of that behavior, it seemed like it was the only thing he could do anymore. He'd become a master at ticking people off.
Dawn tried to intervene on his behalf which was both a blessing and a curse. He knew he was pushing Phoenix farther than he ever had before which made him grateful for the Captain's company, but it also made him look weak. It made him look like he needed a woman to come to his rescue. Well, he didn't. He was about to pry her off of him, trying to ignore her own taunts, when she leaned in and sank her teeth into his neck. She latched onto him, biting deeply, and Henry growled. She was making him angry now. He could handle her shouting at him, even swatting him on occasion. But this... this was overkill. Henry opened his mouth and snapped at the arm around his neck but unable to reach. He felt Phoenix being pulled off of him, and the skin on his neck ripped away.
Blood gushed and he instinctively clapped a hand over the wound before turning to glare at the culprit. He watched in silence as she spat a portion of his neck on the ground. Then Dawn was between them like she was some sort of peace maker. Henry wanted to shove her aside and finish whatever was going on between himself and Phoenix, but he was already wounded. And despite popular belief, he really didn't want to hurt her. Dawn seemed to be trying her hand at negotiation, and Henry rolled his eyes behind her back, blood still flowing rather freely down his arm and chest. He supposed a physical wound was fair payment for the emotional wound he'd given his former friend.
Henry pulled his fingers away from his neck momentarily, and blood practically squirted from his wound. With a sigh, he put his hand back, wishing he would heal faster. The stupid thing stung like crazy. Staying a somewhat safe distance from both Phoenix and Dawn, Henry watched Phoenix. He could see the anger and pain smoldering in her eyes. She really hated him that much, huh? He told himself it was for the best. "I know it doesn't make a bit of difference if I apologize, so I won't." He forced a grin to his face, knowing this was for the best.

The fury was still live in the young lycan woman as she spat another bit of blood out of her mouth. The fact that she was able to get such a big chunk out of Henry was a big surprise. Usually someone stopped her by now or tried to stop her given that it wasn’t always that easy. Not to mention the reputation she had for having a short temper. It didn’t help that Henry seemed to push all the right buttons to get her to snap at him. Talking about Gabe was the last straw. She had found out a while ago from her mate that he had been drinking and woke up next to some woman. Now despite having his smell on her part of Nix did not want to believe that Gabe actually did anything with her. Now the woman was claiming she was pregnant and Nix wanted nothing more hen to rip her throat out. It seemed all that anger that she kept for that woman was now coming out on Henry. If he hadn’t mentioned it none of this would have happened. Hell they could have easily gone their separate ways avoiding any of this. She knew that someone must have seen something aside from Dawn and it would mean it would eventually get around to everyone.
Wiping her mouth, Nix looked over at Dawn glaring at the woman. If she hadn’t interfered Nix would have probably done much worse and later on regretted it. It seemed to be a lose-lose situation if she really thought about it. Problem was right now she wasn’t thinking. The only thing on Nix’s mind was ripping the other’s throat out for being a complete jerk. Had there not been nails digging into her windpipe, Nix might have actually held on to the Prince for a lot longer doing that much more damage. However it seemed she really couldn’t get her hands on him anymore and the young lycan gave in for now.
Glaring at Dawn, she watched the woman step between her and Henry which right now seemed to be a good thing. She was still livid and that was quite evident with the growling and snarling she was doing right now. Turning her eyes on Dawn, she growled once more before staring just behind her at Henry wishing she could simply take another bite out of him. “He doesn’t deserve your loyalty or anyone else’s. “ she stated her eyes seemed to glow red as she continued to glare at Henry. Her anger wasn’t just fueled by his comment but the fact that she was hormonal as well. Luckily her emotions weren’t too out of balance or she might have ended up going to the next extreme low and start to get depressed about the situation or something. “You’re apologies mean nothing because you don’t give a damn about anyone but yourself.” she glared before moving away from Dawn and Henry starting to pace back and forth to try and cool off a bit. If anything she could always jump around Dawn and get to Henry from another side.
