Dawn arches an eyebrow at Revell as nearly a dozen emotions passed over his face, clearly having a tough time figuring out if her words were true or not. It was a temptation to laugh at the poor male but she resisted. If any of those had to do with the fact they had spent so little time together than he didn’t understand the way inner wolves worked as well as he acted like he did. There was never any telling if another wolf would instantly accept a mate or if they needed to be coaxed into it if they were more closely guarded about their feelings. For herself, her sister wolf had known almost in a heartbeat Vaan was hers but back then there had been far too many obstacles. She popped more skittles into her mouth, rolling the tasty candy pieces over her tongue to savory the burst of flavors.
“I’m sure it will be hermosa.” The Spanish rolled off Dawn’s tongue, easily translating into beautiful. Lifting her glass, she sipped from the lemonade welcoming the cold chill that came with it down her spine. Her eyes glanced back and forth between Xavier who as starting to go at his food and Revell who was setting his flute back together. Feeling the electricity passing back and forth between the two, Dawn felt oddly out of place. Like she was intruding on a private moment and she should leave as quickly as possible. It was what humans referred to as being the third wheel, it was awkward and highly annoying. The two of them didn’t need a chaperone at their age, even if Revell was older than Dawn while Xavier was still reaching into his prime.
But as Revell started to play, Dawn was fixed in her seat by each note that fell from the instrument. So fix in fact that she had gone to place another skittle in her mouth to stop completely, the candy hanging inches from her mouth. It was hard not to completely break down and cry over the beautiful music but she easily slipped on her mask normally reserved for dealing with tough situations or decisions. Finally, snapping out of the daze, her foot began to tap softly in perfect beat with the notes. She’d always wanted to play an instrument but never had the time to learn between being the Captain, taking care of Xavier, and watching after Summer.

He blushed at both Xavier and Dawn's comments; he licked his lips and swallowed trying to calm himself. When he started it was soft and long like the sigh of the wind the note meant to calm him more than any start to a song. The note transitioned without any roughness into the next note the music flowing easily. The music gave away the thoughts of Revell's heart though he tried to hide it beneath light tones. The song was light almost giddy something that could be danced to with smiles and laughter.
Revell closed his eyes submitting to the excitement of his wolf. Xavier was listening to him, had wanted to hear him play and was here for him. It wasn’t like any of the other times he’d been around Xavier where he was in the shadows or across the room there simply to watch and look after Xavier. It wasn’t even like the times where he’d slipped into Xavier’s room to leave the notes and gifts. This was closer than Revell had ever dared get to Xavier in the past and part of him was glad for Dawn being there. He’d given Xavier space so far and though he was starting to think Xavier was old enough Dawn would keep him in check. He didn’t want to push Xavier before he was ready and he couldn’t exactly ask Xavier himself.
An idea came to mind about using his anonymous notes to find out from Xavier himself, but he trusted in Dawn’s judgment as well. The song ended and he opened his eyes slowly the floor filling his vision first. He was afraid to look at Xavier and Dawn and see disgust on their faces the last time he’d played for any type of audience had been his parents and they had taken the flute and broken it telling him what he’d played had been clumsy and racked their ears with the high off key pitches he’d reached.
Lowering the flute he sighed softly and looked up glancing at Dawn first, he’d heard her foot tapping as he played and he had hopes that she would have at least enjoyed it. Besides he didn’t think he’d be able to continue playing ever again if he saw Xavier’s face and it was filled with disgust like his parents.
Feeling hopeful he finally looked at Xavier his mouth feeling dry.”I hope that meet your meet your expectations as well as was pleasing to your ears and heart.” Revell always felt that when you listened to music you had to listen with your heart as well as your ears. It was part of the reason he didn’t like playing for others his heart was always laid bare in his music.

He always felt there was something different about him when it came to finding his mate but different never meant bad. His mom always told him growing up different never meant bad so he wasn’t ashamed that he didn’t have a female mate and didn’t want one, his brother wolf lead the way for him. “I agree mom, I’m sure it will be myself I have no doubts." Xavier ate his food while he listened to Revell’s music he was so beautiful he wished he would be as good someday but he would have to start learning it first. He smiled at his mom and leaned his head on her shoulder, still right beside her. Xavier was in awe sure he could play the piano but the flute was a beautiful instrument, something you could truely express yourself with. The piano was the same but the flute was soft and perfect.
Tapping his hand lightly on his leg the entire time and wondered what Revell’s song was about or maybe was it about someone. Listening to him playing happily it calmed his nerves and calmed his wolf down who was just running around in circles but laided down and listened himself. Not wanting the song to end but to keep going, once the song ended he started to clap for Revell, very impressed by him. Watching the flute lowered he hadn't stopped clapping he had loved the song and wanted to hear much more. "It was so beautiful you have a gift and a talent for music Revell." Xavier sniffled a bit his eyes were misted from the sheer beauty of what had been played. Looking at his mom wondering what she was thinking at the moment after the song ended.

It was strange; Dawn had never thought her pup would like males. She wasn’t about to complain or have a cow about it. He’d never been the type to be too interested in females after that last whore had tried to force herself on him. Something she hadn’t enjoyed one bit, was it even a surprise that that courtier had gone ‘missing’? There was no way to trace anything back to her; the Captain was just that good. Of course, there were suspicions and whenever asked about it she had a tight sealed alibi memorized down to the minutes. If Xavier wanted someone and it made his wolf happy to be with them, she wasn’t going to stand in the way in fact, she’d be the one to knock anyone out that objected even if it was Vaan. However, Vaan wasn’t the sort of king to get in the way of anyone’s pick in a mate unless it was an arranged marriage. Thankfully, aside from Henry’s upcoming marriage to Elina, arranged marriage weren’t as common anymore.
Reaching over, Dawn wrapped an arm around Xavier’s shoulder to hug him close to her side while they enjoyed the sweet tender music Revell was playing for them. She wasn’t much of a music person so she had no idea if the piece he was playing was written by a famous musician or if it was something all his own. Either way, she was very impressed and a little sad when it came to an end. Something very familiar nagged her about the way the notes had been played for them. Her fingers toyed with one of Xavier’s dread locks while pondering what made her think that.
“You don’t think highly enough of yourself, Revell.” Dawn smiled at him when Revell finally looked her in the ways. It wasn’t a fake smile, she didn’t even know how to fake a smile. It was nothing more than a smile of a proud mother watching a child do something so far above their expectations that all the mother wanted to do was hug the child to pieces. “You should play more often. I would gladly listen.”
“Bebe, play something for Revell as a thank you.” Nudging him softly with her shoulder, Dawn nodded her head towards the piano. She always enjoyed watching Xavier play and the music he could tease from the ivory keys was almost like refreshing ice water on a hot humid summer day. It relaxed her wolf when he played as if she knew he was safe while sitting at the piano where she could keep an eye on him.

Revell nodded to Dawn's comment about him not thinking much of himself. He truly didn't his parents had made sure of that and though since being in Vaan's pack he'd gotten better about thinking less of himself he never thought himself great at anything. He was blushing at Xavier's applause and he gave a grateful smile to them both."Thank you Dawn...ask and I will play for you anytime you wish." He looked at Xavier blushing at all the applause. He'd never heard someone applauding for him and to have Xavier doing it made him both excited and embarassed. His wolf was pracing around his mind his chest puffed with the praise.
Revell saw the tears building up in Xavier's eyes and immediatly he pulled out a clean handkerchief and held it for Xavier to take. He looked down into the young lycans eyes with a pleading smile. "Please don't cry...I didn't mean to make you cry."
When Dawn mentioned to Xavier that he should play the piano Revell immediately took a chair and pulled it over to sit next to Dawn. He'd heard Xavier play and he loved it every key stroke. Revell smiled at Xavier. "Would you mind playing?" He wanted to be able to give Xavier the praise that he'd only been able to think up until now. Xavier had so many talents and Revell never ceased to be amazed by each.
He looked over at Dawn and smiled speaking quietly. "Thank you for that." Her words as well as Xavier's were things he wouldn't take lightly especially the look Dawn had given him. Both of them were important to him Dawn as Xavier's mother and guard to Vaan and Xavier as his soon-to-be-mate.

He knew the courtier who had tried to force herself on him had gone ‘missing’ but he just thought she had just left was all to never return to the island but whatever floated her boat really that was his feeling about it. Xavier always answered the questions truthfully and he didn’t know anything about it but was just relieved she wouldn’t be bugging him anymore. Snuggling into his mom his eyes closed he just listened and saw the notes in his mind. He smiled feeling his dreads was played with, blinking his eyes he did sniffle. Listening to his mom he agreed with her about Revell not thinking much of himself or highly enough thinking someone had brought that on in the first place but he thought Revell was an amazing man. “Me to I would love to listen to more.” Resting his hands into his lap again, seeing the handkerchief for him he took it from Revell moments later. “Thank you, you didn’t do anything wrong Revell, it was a beautiful song.”
Wanting to hug Revell but didn't want to seem all needy at the same time or to make Revell uncomfortable. Xavier gently dabbed under his eyes just a bit and blinked to clear his eyes up. Looking to his mom he smiled when he was nudged at. "A lovely idea mom, I certainly will." Moving onto his feet he glided over to the piano and sat down on the bench. He had never been taught it was a gift he was able to play without music but he did compose a little. Turning his face to his mom and Revell. "It would be a pleasure to." Resting his slender fingers on the lovely black and white keys, he took a soft breath. His eyes closed and he began to play a beautiful piece he had composed himself, it was a powerful piece but soft at the same time. The music hall was filled by his song and drifted around for all to hear.

Feeling that Xavier was correct in clapping, Dawn joined along for a brief moment still smiling at Revell. “I just might make a request one day.” A faint memory of the dream she had last night danced around in her mind making her feel like this was all just one big déjà vu. In her dream, there had been a wedding but not Henry or Elina’s but her own which made no sense because she wasn’t engaged and the only man she wanted was still out of her reach no matter how much they loved each other. Royalty couldn’t marry commoners. Anyways, in that dream she could have sworn she’d seen Revell standing at the far side in a dark suit with that same flute, a flute she hadn’t seen in her whole life, playing the wedding march. How strange.
Watching the exchange of the handkerchief, Dawn kept silent and nibbled on some candy feeling a pain in her chest, not physical pain but the kind from a wolf missing her or his mate. There wasn’t ever a time she wasn’t worried about Vaan more so when she wasn’t close to his side. However, with her leg still on the mend the King had taken to ordering her around much more to stay in bed or find a place to sit down to relax. In all honesty, the male was starting to drive her up the wall with his constant talk of her leg. She had far more interesting things she’d rather be doing with him then have him speak about the faint scars on her calf. Those wouldn’t be the last scars she ever got in this life time so why did he have to act like she was going to die from them? For Luna’s sake, the she-wolf was still alive and kicking!
The movement at her side told her Xavier was getting up to head for the piano which caused her to smile. It surprised her a little when Revell pulled up a chair alongside her to listen and watch her pup. She would have thought he’d be at the piano’s side instead of by her. “I meant ever word of it.” Dawn whispered back to him. Relaxing in the chair, she sipped at her glass of lemonade while watching Xavier getting prepped at the bench. “Play that one piece you made, bebe, please.” The one that sounded so much like he was trying to call out to his mate or the secret admirer of his. As the notes were teased from the keys, she nodded slightly at the exact song she wanted to hear was played. The notes warmed her heart and were a good contrast to Revell’s playing that had nearly moved her to tears at its beauty.

Revell inclined his head when Dawn said she just might make a request and gave Xavier a sfot smile when he said he hadn't done anyhting wrong. His angel eyes wolf was to kind to him telling him those tears had been beautiful. The song had been good to Revell's ears but it wasn't beautiful though he greatly appreciated Xavier and Dawn telling him so.
Revell sat in his chair next to Dawn his hands fisted over his thighs as Xavier began to play. He wanted to be standing by the paino close to Xavier as he played the keys making the piano sing as only he could. He wouldn't let himself get that close not after what he did last night. If he was standing by Xavier as he played he'd soon be sitting by Xavier while he played then sliding his arms around Xavier's waist and holding him as he played. Revell closed his eyes and drew in a deep breath to banish that line of thinking his hands fisting tighter for a moment the air was heavy with Xavier's scent enhanced by the cologone he'd given Xavier.
Letting out the breath ever so slowly Revell focused on the sound filling the music hall a smile on his lips as he let the music create a scene on the inside of his eyelids. His fists loosened and his fingers began to tap on his thighs as if he were playing the flute. His mind creating a flute accompaniment for the piano the thought of playing with Xavier making his heart add a fast preccussion to the song.
Revell bit the inside of his cheek to calm himself down and just listen leave thoughts of his flute playing with Xavier's piano for another time. He opened his eyes and glanced out the window letting his eyes just stare at the beauty in the garden before inevitably they turned to the beauty in the room watching his back as his hands flew over the eyes. His eyes took in every inch of Xavier's back as the muscles shifted with the delicate movements. Revell knew he was staring and guessed that Dawn probably didn't like his staring but he couldn't help it he was just so drawn to Xavier that he could never keep his eyes off him.
His wolf just wanted to go over and curl up next to Xavier's legs and listen to him play, just lazy around all day with his soon-to-be-mate music surrounding them. The thought made Revell smile affectionately and look down. He needed to stop thinking and just listen to the amazing music Xavier had written and was now playing.

He smiled hearing what his mom said and knew he would do that himself, wanting to hear Revell play more for them. Still with the handkerchief in his hand he made sure he hadn’t messed up his eye makeup or anything like that. Meaning it that Revell hadn’t done anything wrong he saw the smile and felt better. Looking to his mom he nuzzled her softly and wouldn’t go overboard with wanting her to take it easy he quite assured that Vaan was worrying about her enough for everyone. He glided over to the bench and pulled it out, sitting down and got all prepped to play for them.
“Gladly mom.” Xavier smiled and lovingly touched the black and white keys, everything he had ever composed was in his room in a locked box, he was a child prodigy and first had played the piano at almost 3 years of age with his nanny there, plus he was able to sing sounding like angel. His nanny had told his mom what he had done and a piano teacher had come into listen to him, telling his mom her pup had a gift. It had been the same with his talent of drawing and painting then with the languages, he had a photographic memory as well. The notes were crisp, never flattering and called out to his mate or the secret admirer of his to come and find him.
Xavier never minded being watched by anyone when he was on the piano or the violin, he loved playing the violin just as much as the piano. His eyes closed letting the music come from his heart and flow through out the room, he started to hum with the music sounding as if he belonged in a chorus full of angels from how unearthly he sounded. His inner wolf started to howl his own call to his mate, the wolf he was meant to be with. Xavier always felt serene and calm there at the piano, it was something no one could take away from him.
His slender fingers moved over the keys like a piano master’s fingers would. He could play many different pieces by his favorite composers but there were so many he liked so he never could play just a few. Soon his song faded and he came out of his zone, letting his fingers come to a stop on the keys. Opening his eyes he smiled and sat there quietly.

Relaxing her shoulders, Dawn eased back more in the chair savoring the music being played by her pup. It was rare to see the Captain of the Guards so relaxed around the palace but being put on ‘bed rest’ by Vaan was starting to make her soft around the edges. In such a state, she even started to hum along with Xavier at the piano. Singing came easy to her, her voice was already alluring enough even she didn’t tone it down to lessen its effect on others. However, she refrained from actually letting the words spill from her mouth since she found it to be a very intimate song meant for mates or lovers. It was still a lovely piece no matter who heard it.
Flicking her eyes to the side, she watched Revell for his reaction to the song that was being played in part for him. Dawn wanted to chuckle at the intense staring the male was throwing at Xavier. He was so obvious about his feelings for her pup that her wolf wanted to push him over to the piano for him to be closer to the young lycan. Oh well, she didn’t play match maker. If those two wanted to be together they’d have to figure it out on their own. She had her own love issues to work out.
As the last note echoed in the music room, Dawn applauded him, nodding feeling very proud of him. “Perfect.” She could still remember the first time she’d learned of him being able to play so well, it had nearly given her a heart attack worried someone might try to use him for their own purposes. But it was a good thing she had set her foot down before any courtiers could even contemplate the idea of using his talents to gain fame or money. She had paid for the best instructor to teach Xavier, wanting him to excel in anything he loved. Besides, her money was going to waste, most of the time it just sat in a bank vault.
Stand up from the chair, she walked over to Xavier and pressed a kiss to his cheek. His height made it so she didn’t even have to bend over to drop the kiss on his skin which was good because she wasn’t sure how much more movement her body could take right then. “Thank you.” Glancing back at Revell, a smirk began to form on her lips trying to imagine what might be going through his head at seeing someone so close to someone he liked.

Revell smiled as his wolf howled; the song called and he they wanted to answer. He couldn't though not yet he had to be patient let Xavier have his space. He'd grown so much already and was able to make this beautiful music that so called to him yet he would wait he'd send Xavier a note and get a better feel for his angel eyed wolf's feelings for a mate but he wouldn't rush or pressure Xavier.
When Xaiver started humming Revell just closed his eyes and listened enjoying the sound immensely. The song was lovely just from the sound of the keys but both Xavier and now Dawn humming along made it truly breath taking. Revell relaxed enjoying the music and keeping his thoughts blank he didn't want to get distracted from the sound. The last note filled the hall and Revell opened his eyes as Dawn started clapping, he clapped himself his eyes on Xavier from the moment he'd opened them. He stood nodding in agreement with Dawn."Beautiful."
Revell watched Dawn walk over to Xavier and was worried she might be pushing herself to much with that leg. He didn't want to say anything but he was still worried about her. His eyes narrowed slightly when she kissed Xavier's cheek. He looked away feeling jealous though he knew he shouldn't be jealous. Dawn was Xavier's mom and a very good mother to him. He bit the inside of his lip hushing his wolf who wanted desperately to move over to Xavier and wrap his arms around him and get closer than Dawn. He saw the smirk on Dawn's lips and sighed, she was doing it on purpose testing him. He wouldn't push Xavier though no matter how much he wanted to be able to touch him like the others around him did but he knew one touch might just undo him right now.
Revell took slow measured steps over to Xavier and Dawn using the extra time to calm his wolf down. When he got over to them he smiled at Xavier."You are very talented Xavier thank you for playing for us. I enjoyed it." He had enjoyed it and he knew the song would be ringing in his ears for the next few days. He'd have to go running once he left here to calm his wolf, the song had riled him up as well as Dawn who had been testing him since she'd come in. He understood her concern and respected it he didn't want to be on her bad side but more importantly he never wanted to do anything to Xavier to get on her bad side.
He looked at Dawn not in the eye but at her forehead."You have given him great tutors they've cultivated his talent." Revell truly meant that and he looked over at Xavier."You have a great gift."

Looking over he saw his mom was relaxing and lounging in the chair he smiled to her. He hadn't missed a beat or a single note he let his fingers take off. His keen hearing picked up on his mom's soft humming with his playing. Closing his eyes again he had gone back into his zone and let his mind bring out what his heart wanted to say for so long. He played many different kinds of songs on the piano but this song was a special one to him, yes it was an intimate song meant for all of the mates and lovers in history. Xavier often played it alone in his attempt to call out to his true soul mate. But so far his calls hadn't been answered by anyone and it was making him lose hope. He wanted to have his heart warmed by the person it screamed out for.
He felt that he was being stared at by Revell and felt something so strong and real for the older lycan in the room with his mom and himself. Xavier hoped that Revell would come and sit with him but wouldn't push it either. Making the last few notes so much stronger he smiled and didn’t move his fingers from the keys, the notes were racing through his thoughts and wanting to just spill out. Wondering what Revell was thinking about he longed to know but he wouldn’t pry. His wolf was swaying his head with his eyes closed listening and howling to call his mate to him. Opening his eyes hearing the applauds for him from his mom and from Revell he smiled blushing a great deal. “Thank you mom, thank you Revell.” Sometimes he wished his piano teacher would come back to listen to him play but Ms. Allens didn’t live on the Isle and passed away, she had been human and it had saddened him but he had been able to honor her by playing at her funeral.
Listening to her footsteps to him he felt a kiss on the cheek, leaning back into her lightly he would play something else he had composed, it was for his mom. Worried about his mom pushing herself to just get over to him he would help her back to her seat when she felt she needed to sit down. “You’re welcome mom, I enjoyed it myself.” Looking to Revell moments later he saw his eyes narrow some then watched him look away, know he really wanted to know what was up. Looking at Revell he quietly watched him feeling like he needed to pounce on Revell to make his point that he had serious feelings for him. For once not to be so proper but a young man who didn’t want to always feel like he was going to be judged by anyone.
Xavier watched Revell slowly coming over to them, his own wolf had calmed himself down but still wagged his tail. Looking at him in the eyes getting lost in them he blushed. "Thank you Revell I enjoyed playing for you and my mom, its always fun to play for people I care about." Awww crud had he admitted that he blushed even worse and rubbed the back of his neck shyly, trying to calm himself down he needed to. He soon chewed on his bottom lip and wanted to hide against his mom at that moment but he wasn't going to do that. It was Revell there and he wasn't going to be a scared little pup around the man he loved so much, he wasn't a scared little pup, his mom hadn't raised a scared little lycan. He quietly listened to Revell talking to his mom about him having great tutors who brought out his talent and making his gift shine like the brightest star. "Thank you, I hope to play again for you sometime if you want me to."Thinking about what he wanted to play next he knew just the piece but his mom hadn't heard it yet.
