Blythe headed into town to get some fresh fruit, he’d run out a few days ago and decided to refresh his supply. He headed out to the Farmer’s Market in jeans and a grey t shirt his hands in his pockets shoulders back in a leave me alone way. It took him a bit to make it to the market but once he got there he did his best to avoid people. He went to stands only when there wasn’t a crowd around them. It wasn’t exactly the most efficient way to get things but it suited Blythe’s fancy just fine especially since he wasn’t in a rush for anything.
Blythe didn’t really rush to places he took his time going where he wanted it was a habit he picked up from his father. He wasn’t ever late or anything like that he always made sure there was plenty of time to get to places if he had to be there by a certain time. Blythe just preferred to go at his own pace whether it was fast or leisurely depending on how he was that day and today was one of those leisurely days though if the market got any more crowded he was planning on leaving.
Blythe wasn’t a people person not anymore at least; he preferred to keep to himself though apparently people hadn’t gotten that yet. Before his father died Blythe had still laughed and gone out of his way to talk and even flirt a bit with others. He’d been carefree before his mother’s death but tragically both deaths had been hard on him, with his mother’s death causing him to not go so far out of his way with people. With his mother’s death though he’d has his father to comfort and help him through it but when his father died there was no one left and Blythe just couldn’t do for himself what his father had done for him during his mother’s death.
Running his fingers through his hair Blythe forced himself to relax. It was a little silly for him to avoid crowds of people as much as he did and he knew how to be in a crowd without getting noticed for the most part. He headed over to an apple vendor getting a bag of apples to go with the other few bags he’d already gotten today. No one really shoved or pushed in the market it was almost organized chaos people were everywhere calling out what they were selling or what they wanted to buy and they waited. It wasn’t always like this but most days everyone could generally go about their business.
When Blythe got the apples he worked his way out of the crowd of people ignoring a few people who knew him and had called out hellos to him. Once free of the crowd Blythe pulled out an apple and started eating it as he made his way along the vendor stands. The crowds were getting a bit thick as people were leaving and arriving and he bumped into someone a bag hitting the ground. Blythe cursed lightly under his breath and bent down to pick up the tomatoes he’d bought. ”Sorry, its crowded today.” He said to the person he’d bumped into not really noticing who he’d bumped.

So Blythe wasn't the only one out in a quest for fresh produce. After coming to the rather un-amusing conclusion that her small house was void of any of her favorite fruits and vegetables, Casey herself was also out and about an wandering through the markets. She was dressed in her normal...a pair of blue jeans and a colored T-shirt. Today's just happened to have been red. And her hair was up in a messy ponytail. Well--she wasn't exactly looking to win a beauty pageant here. All she wanted was some food. That wasn't such a bad thing in her mind.
But damn it all if the place wasn't crowded as all get out! People here, people there...people all over the joint! It was beginning to unnerve her so.
Casey wasn't anti social. Not by any means. She just had a bad deal of the cards and was wary of people. And it didn't help that she now had this wild creature inside her more or less. And she had no control over it. The wolf did what it wanted and didn't care to ask if it was okay with her or not. It made her feel even more like an outcast. It wasn't that she didn't like the Island. Isla de los Lobos was beautiful. The scenery was what had brought her and Lance here to begin with. But it had been a trap...only resulting in her getting bit and him killed.
And so now she didn't have anyone. Course that was her own fault she supposed. She didn't let herself get close to anyone here. Or let anyone get close to her. She was too wary. She didn't know if they were all lycans. That fact alone didn’t really mean much to her. It wasn’t like she was being prejudice or nothing. Yeah sure they could change into a monstrous werewolf at the full moon. That didn’t bug her. Not one bit. But it was the fact that one of them had assumedly killed her brother...it didn’t take a genius to know that the attack had scarred her.
But she was trying not to hold it too close. It wasn’t everyone’s fault after all. But still it made her wary all the same (i mean what if they were all like that?). But as much as she just tried to stay clear, today it just wasn’t meant to be. It was crowded (still) and Casey had accidentally shoulder checked someone. She gave a soft grunt as she took a step off to the step as she temporally lost her balance. She heard the soft curse and cursed herself. Damn it! That wasn’t supposed to have happen.
She glanced over at the other, taking a second to look him over with startling blue eyes for any obvious injuries...not that she thought he had any, but heck, never hurt to be safe now did it? He apologized and Casey simply shook her head, ”Nah its all right. I shoulda been watchin’ where I was goin’...ya all right?” her southern accent coloring her words as she apologized back...it was okay. Really it was. Everything was just fine.

Blythe heard her southern accent as he held the apple in his mouth his hands holding the few bags he had including the bag he dropped while his other collected the abused tomatoes. He sighed around the apple noticing that some of them were no longer usable. He straightened taking the apple out of his mouth so he could answer her, it would be poliet she'd asked how he was after they'd bumped into each other and it was more than some people did when they ran into others. His eyes looked her over trying to be poliet and make sure he hadn't injured her. She looked fine, it wasn't as if they'd been running when they'd hit each other. "I'm fine. Are you alright?" It didn't look like she'd dropped anything.
The people were walking around them a couple people bumping into Blythe as they hurried about their own tasks. His frown deepened his wolf was getting annoyed with all the activity and people around them, touching them. He looked at the girl as people pushed past her as well, he gently took her elbow and guided her out of the crowd holding the apple in his mouth so he could hold her elbow. He stopped them in a small area off to the side that had a few benches and a couple trash cans. Finishing his apple he dropped the core into the trash and then began going through the bag of tomatoes getting rid of the split ones and the others that were bruised beyond use. He was grumbling under his breath not happy with the loss of the food he just bought. He'd had worse happen in the past though; he'd dropped multiple bags before and lost most of what he’d bought so this wasn’t too bad. He looked the girl over at least she hadn’t dropped anything and he didn’t have to replace anything she’d dropped.
He sighed sitting down his wolf was grumbling with all the people and it was too busy at the moment to try and get out. Blythe decided to sit in the little area away from most of the people and content himself with waiting. He looked up at the girl wondering if she’d leave or not, she looked skittish around crowds like he was though he was sure there was a different reason than his own. He doubted anyone had such a division with their wolf as he did, most didn’t fear their wolf event he newly turned lycans. He ran his fingers through his hair sitting with his elbows resting across his thighs the bags resting by his feet.

Casey had indeed not dropped anything---but that was because she didn't have anything in her hands. Well food wise that was. She only had a few of those green bags (it never hurt to be a little environmentally conscious after all) that she was going to use to carry her things in. So it was good for her, nothing got wasted--not so great for him. All those apples and tomatoes...damn it all! She was so clumsy! Casey bent down to help him with picking up his things...since no one else seemed to want to help either one of them. She simply grunted as the people get running into her, stepping on the backs of her flip flops and just not caring it seemed like.
She nodded as he asked if she was okay now, "Oh yeah I'm all right. Gosh sorry 'bout your food here." she said handing him back a few split tomatoes with a slightly nervous laugh. Well they were useless now. And there was nothing like spending money and then it going to waste cause of a klutz who couldn't watch where she was going to put you in a bad mood. He didn't seem to be too concerned about the food. As a matter of fact, he seemed more concerned about her as he took her elbow and guided her to a not so crowded place. Mk...that was different. But whatever. She could live with that. Sides it would have been easier to chat without people running into them anyways.
She watched with an inner cringe as the other threw away a good deal of what he had before sitting down with an obviously none too happy look and feel about him. She was definitely going to have to repay this guy. Okay sure he didn't save her life or do anything for her--and perhaps she didn't have to do this some might tell her, but still, she felt she owed the guy at least his apples and tomatoes for this mess. She nervously shifted her weight from one foot to another as he simply looked up at her. Her gaze looking over at the people who just seemed to be hurrying about their way...not even in the least bit concerned about what was going on around them.
"People always seem to be in such a hurry eh?" she said trying to make some type of conversation. But then again, small talk had never been her strong point and probably never would be, "I'm Casey." she went to introducing herself then. Probably a good idea to at least give the guy you almost bowled over your name...yeah that sounded like a plan.
Oh man this was gonna be one of those days wasn't it?

He accepted the tomatoes she handed him as he finished picking up the small spill in the street. He glanced up at her when she gave her nervous laugh. Did she think he would yell her over dropped produce? Blythe had never had a bad temper like that even when he’d gotten drunk all that time ago with buddies he’d been more smiles and laughing hollers than angry yelling. He shook his head even now his wolf silent Blythe had barely any temper. He might get annoyed in crowds and want to get away before all the people made his wolf wake up but other than that he didn’t yell or attack in anger at least he hadn’t yet. He moved them out of the crowd.
Blythe looked up at her as she talked about people being in a hurry. He nodded people were always rushing to nowhere. Running here and running there not really paying attention to those around them. It was sad that even things on the island could get that way, it wasn't nearly as bad as on the mainland but it wasn't as it had been years ago. That was probably in Blythe's favor years ago everyone was in everyone's business that type of neighborly busybody behavior would really set him off now if it had continued.
Blythe looked at her really looked when she introduced herself. She seemed like a nice enough woman which made him a bit reluctant to introduce himself. Names caused people to remember you and…Blyth ran his fingers through his hair. He was starting to get to paranoid. It was a fine line he had to constantly check himself on especially on these days when he went into town and had to interact with other people. ”Blythe” He replied and sighed as he saw the crowd only continue to bustle and not diminish in the slightest. He looked back at Casey she was trying to make small talk but he wasn’t much for it right now he was just counting the minutes till the crowd lined enough for him to leave. He was sure it showed in his eyes too.
It made him feel bad that she was stuck here with him. He wasn’t the most sociable guy to be stuck with but she could leave and go brave the crowd if she couldn’t stand his quiet company. Blythe’s wolf would actually prefer her to leave and go brave the crowd; he didn’t want to be in the same company of her or anyone other than Blythe. Most of the time Blythe felt his wolf wouldn’t even want his company if they didn’t share a mind and body. They were to different though and Blythe felt like he was a ticking time bomb using the seclusion and lack of human contact to prolong his time before he or his wolf lost it.
