By first impressions if one happened to find themselves wandering about the five houses (one house in particular), the house of Naiven was empty! Completely and totally empty! That is to say not a human laid in easy sight. There didn't seem to be anyone around at all. Everyone seemed to be off doing their own thing....whatever things those might be (who knew with this house), but oh how wrong you were....the house wasn't quite as empty as one might of thought it had been.
A large, very sullen looking black wolf laid on the very luxurious and comfy looking chair as one would enter the living room. He appeared to be very lightly dozing off if the oh so very soft snores were anything to go by...but for the Chancellor to the king, this was anything but sound sleep. Kevan hadn't been able to go one night this week (so far at least) without being plagued by memories of...her. His old wife...Olivia's mother...the woman he could not get out of his mind no matter how hard he tried! A slight huff left his canine lips as he exhaled heavily. He hated those memories...the smell of blood, the rage that filled his mind quite like no other he had ever felt before, the sound of her screams, the words she had said to him...
'Kevan you are an idiot! A bloody fucking idiot who only cares about himself! You don't care about anyone but your damn self! Its ruining everything for us! How I ever fell in love with you, I'll never be able to figure out!'
He growled again in his soft sleep as the words hit his brain. God he wasn't even sure himself how he loved that woman for as long as he had. But she was dead...murdered by his own hands. Why should it matter to him now? It had been years after years since it had happened. She wasn't around to nag him anymore. Or to be his damn Jiminy Cricket! He shouldn't care anymore! The past was done! It was over! He couldn't go back in time! It was impossible not to mention stupid to think! But he couldn't shake the feelings he had now. Feelings that were rather new to him all things considering. Guilt, shame and regret. Kevan was the Chancellor. He manipulated people and lied on a daily basis to get things his way and to keep his powerful position. He didn't feel those feelings. He couldn't have if he wanted to keep his job!
It--it was crazy! All in all the lack of good solid sleep made for a cranky chancellor. He had been more snappish and crabby then he normally was. Well to everyone but the king that was. He reigned in his crabbiness for him as always. But it was angering more then anything else. Kevan growled again as his eyes opened and he lifted his head. He could have swore he just heard the door open but eh...what did he care? He laid his head back down on his paws as he continued to be plagued by the memories he so sorely wished he could have forgotten....but alas karma was a foul bitch....wasn't she?
