Slender finger wrapped around one of the shiny green apples being displayed at a vendors stand in the market. Every morning there was fresh product waiting at each of the vendors at the farmers market. Phoenix enjoyed taking a walk down to the market early morning to grab herself something to eat. Yes she could have done this at home, but Nix preferred to be outside more than she did inside. It was why during the warmer months the young lycan could be found at the beach either sunbathing on the sand or taking a dip in the water. Not that the cooler weather would stop her from taking a swim in the cool water. For some reason the woman always drawn into water not really sure why this habit had become something dominant in her life. Regardless, if ever there was a doubt as to where she could be, Nix would always be found at her favourite patch of beach. Only a handful of people knew her favourite spot and she preferred it that way. The woman might have an occasional soft spot for things but keeping her own things private was something she strive for.
Grasping the green apple from the stand, Nix smile sweetly at the vendor before taking a bite out of the juicy fruit. Despite her favourite colour being red when it compares to just about anything else, Nix found that the green apples were much juicier in her opinion. Not to mention they had a hint of a sour taste that drew the lycan to them more than any other colour, as odd as it was to think about. Thanking the vendor Nix continued on as she munched the apple in her hands. Usually she would simply pick up a few different fruits at the market which would equal to her breakfast. The young lycan often didn’t have an appetite till it was later in the day which was a good thing if she wanted to keep her figure how it was.
Humming to herself, Phoenix’s blue eyes scanned the other tables as she walked by hoping to find something else that she could snack on. The woman didn’t have much to do this morning so she decided to take her time merely browsing. Maybe later in the afternoon something would come up but for now it was going to be a lazy day. While she browsed the young woman's mind traveled to thoughts about Eva and her mate as she wondered what was to become of the poor woman.

The Lady Olivia Vulpe of the House Navien kept her hands folded in front of herself as she walked, and avoided looking at either of her guards. Her face was kept devoid of emotion and she strode with her chin up. She knew it made her look like a pompous fool, but it was expected of her. Her silvery gossamer dress trailed behind her slightly and a simple emerald pendant adorned her neck. She was supposed to always aspire to the royal family's choice of fashion, but never to overstep them. As if fashion was that important. There were plenty of other important matters to set her mind to.
Livvy's thoughts strayed to Evangeline and Raphael as she casually strolled the farmer's market, intent on satisfying her craving for fresh oranges. Her father Keven, the Chancellor, was adamantly against granting Evangeline her freedom. That meant Olivia wanted to help the woman. In truth, Olivia would have wanted to help anyway. Slavery seemed to be used for innocent people instead of those who would deserve that fate. Besides, the rumor was that Evangeline was pregnant and pups shouldn't be raised in chains. Olivia's stomach churned at the thought even as her mind sought a way to tug on her father's strings without him knowing about it. She thought of the seeds she could plant and the contacts she could slip information to.
She continued to walk without paying much attention to her surroundings. Her guards would alert her if something happened. George and Pedros were good guards and never let her come to harm, despite what Keven thought. They were also her friends. Of course, Pedros was a little more than that but some information was better kept behind her lips. She tried not to peek at him from the corner of her eye. Suddenly, George got her attention and pointed to someone in the distance. Olivia's lycan eyes made the figure out instantly as Phoenix, Lady of Fairnix. She quickened her pace to catch up, but not so much to seem as though she was rushing. When Livvy was about fifteen feet from the other lycan, she allowed herself a small smile. Lady Nix would be the perfect person to openly favor Evangeline's freedom.
"Lady Phoenix, I trust you are well?" Olivia kept her impassive face composed, but inside she was laughing. Even if Nix was from another pack, she was a trusted friend. At last, she allowed herself a small glance at Pedros. A very trusted friend indeed.

Taking another bite of the apple in her hands, Nix found the juice from it dripping down her fingers which oddly enough caused her to laugh at herself. Smiling, the woman quickly chewed the remaining piece in her mouth before quickly producing a handkerchief from her pocket. Putting the apple into her mouth again, she held it there while the young woman quickly whipped her hands of the apple before pocketing the small piece of fabric. Despite being Lady of Fairnix, Phoenix had a few quirks about her that weren’t always lady like. She knew how to behave and how to present herself but a part of her also loved being the carefree person who didn’t mind getting their hands dirty. It was why she would run in the woods often if the need arose. Not to mention the young woman didn’t mind getting a few stains here or there on her. She was a lady yes but she wasn’t about to cry over it if she did happen to break a nail. That particular trait most likely came from her inability to back down from any kind of challenge.
Once she was once again clean, the young woman chuckled to herself before taking another bite of the apple making her way slowly through the vendors. Today her craving was a good apple and possible some grapes. Seeing the grapes caused a small smile to appear on the woman’s face as she remembered a fairly interesting night with her mates and a bunch of grapes. Obtaining some from the vendor, the young Lycan continued walking slowly, her blue dress flowing behind her as she walked. Her thoughts moved from the interesting memory the grapes brought out back to Evangeline and Raphael. Phoenix did not agree one bit with what the Chancellor was saying on their case. It had been one of the reasons she had agreed to try and help the couple out. Not to mention the woman’s case was quite intriguing and she did not think the woman deserved to be a slave let alone raise a family. Despite not having her own family, Nix knew she wouldn’t want to be had situations been reversed.
Thinking her day was going to be quite, Nix was surprised when she heard a familiar voice behind her. Turning around, the young woman smiled seeing her friend Olivia Vulpe with her two guards. A knowing look appeared in her eyes when she spotted the guards before she turned her attention back to her friend. They might not be from the same pack but with their families working closely together, it wasn’t unexpected that they became friends. What was unexpected was that they were friends given who the other woman’s father was. One of the few people Nix was not to found of. To anyone that did not know Olivia they would think she was merely an image of her father, but Phoenix knew better. She had actually taken the time to get to know the woman. “As well as can be. How is your day thus far Lady Olivia?” she asked greeting the woman with a quick embrace. Pulling away, the woman proceeded to eat another grape before she offered some to her friend. Unlike Olivia, Nix did not see a reason to have guards following her. Having two mates not to mention her temper did not require the lycan to take up protection. However, she was aware that her father sent out a guard to follow her in the distance. She had picked up his scent when he was first trailing after her and found it to be common where ever she went. The woman did not complain as long as he stayed his distance. She loved and respected her father and knew he was only worried about his daughter even if he did not need to. “How is your father this fine day?” she asked wondering if her friend had anything to tell her. With all the ears and eyes watching them, it would be foolish for the two woman not to have a way to communicate without anyone knowing what they were discussing.

Olivia's soft-soled shoes barely made a sound as she moved gracefully through the other lycans in the market. It wasn't exactly freedom, as her guards were still with her, but at least she was away from her father's prying and judgmental eyes. She absolutely couldn't stand the man. What made it worse was the fact that she had to put on a show for him. In public, she had to be the dutiful daughter who hung on her father's every word and carried out his orders without question. Olivia honestly believed that Chancellor Keven Vulpe would find some way to dispose of her once she ceased to be useful to him. So in court, she backed up Keven's claims and did everything she could to appear the mirror image of him. In those moments, she seethed on the inside. She didn't hate her father, exactly, but that didn't stop her from wanting to plant a silver dagger in his thigh sometimes.
In times like these, which were sadly few, she could escape most of the eyes that were usually on her and apply her skills elsewhere. In "private" Olivia did what she could to oppose her father's plans without anyone knowing about it. She was quite good at keeping things a secret if she wanted to. Pedros was a good example of one of her secrets. She'd been sneaking around with him for years and only three people knew about it.... herself, Pedros, and Phoenix. Olivia knew that if Phoenix wasn't such a good friend, her relationship with her guard would have been public knowledge by now. Probably in an attempt to bring dishonor and unrest to the Chancellor's pack. More than ever, she was glad of Phoenix's friendship.
Olivia smiled when Phoenix turned back and saw her. The woman was the image of beauty, and she had two mates to show for it. They weren't with her today, for which Olivia was grateful. Having two attentive mates hovering over Nix would make their conversation more difficult, especially considering the fact that Drake thought Olivia was the spawn of the devil. Some days, she wasn't sure he was wrong about that. "How is your day thus far Lady Olivia?" Olivia pulled her thoughts from the utter hatred of her peers and tried to focus on the conversation at hand. She forced her face into stillness and answered impassively. "I'm a bit worn, but it's nothing that can't be remedied with a fresh orange or two." She felt her mouth quirk into a grin and struggled to turn it into a smirk. That's what anyone looking would expect to see.
After a quick embrace, Olivia fell into step beside Phoenix as her guards fell back a couple paces. It wasn't enough to give them complete privacy, but George and Pedros knew the real Olivia. It wasn't their eyes and ears she was worried about. It was everyone else. "How is your father this fine day?" Phoenix asked. Once again, Olivia had to struggle not to smile. Nix was a discreet woman. "As well as can be expected considering all this fuss about Evangeline. He's nearly in a fury about her appearance, and even angrier about the request that she and Raphael had put before the King. I fear he won't be happy unless Evangeline and her unborn pups are dealt with in a way that he deems reasonable." She made herself sound happy at the prospect, but the entire situation made her uneasy. Evangeline and Raphael should have a chance at happiness. "I'm afraid my father is rather private about his current plans about the matter." That was the honest truth. Keven hadn't sent her on one single errand regarding Evangeline's release. The thought of what he might be up to sent a shiver down her spine. [/blockquote]

Being in such a crowded place always made it harder to determine when someone was heading ones’ way. It was even harder when the lycan’s senses weren’t as toned as others. Nix might have speed and agility in her pocket but often times her smell was only average. She knew her mates scents quite well and could easily pick them up but in a crowd like right now, it was harder to pick out a friends scent heading her way. It wasn’t till the young woman was in closer proximity that Nix was able to pick up her friend was coming towards her. Then the voice just gave away her presence and there was no point in trying to figure out who it had been making their way towards her. The young lycan wasn’t too worried about figuring out who could be coming her way. She didn’t really back down from a challenge and that meant having a confidence in her pocket. If someone decided for some reason to attack her there in the middle of the market, she could probably handle herself. If anything, she could most likely handle herself long enough for either one of her mates to be altered or the guard that was shadowing her from a far. Not that the young woman had to really worry much about anyone deciding to plan an assassination attack on her. She might have a short temper but it didn’t mean she had insane enemies.
Seeing her friend there in the market only gave the woman a nice needed distraction and someone to talk to. With her two mates off doing what they did best to pass the time, Nix found herself somewhat bored at times. Sure she was being trained to take her father place as the head of the family with her two mates one day but that wouldn’t be for a long time and it meant having to find different hobbies to entertain herself with. Lately Nix had taken to writing finding that it did give her something to do. Not to mention the young lycan found it to be quite entertaining. With all the drama that was circling Eva and Rafe’s case it was a wonder anyone really got any peace of mind these days. Smiling at her friend, Phoenix grabbed another apply quickly, before hooking her arm loosely through her friends as they began to walk. “I’m sure there are other…fruits that might replenish your strength.” she teased a playful smile on her face. Clearly the woman wasn’t talking about fruit but in choosing her words carefully she could avoid anyone misinterpreting what it was she meant.
Knowing that Olivia’s two guards were following closely behind, the woman was more than certain they could hear the whole conversation. The question was had they been listening to enough of their chatter to have figured out what it was the two woman were really speaking of half the time or were they thinking as well as the rest. The question about her friend’s father was one for any ears that were listening. Many did not know how Phoenix could be friends with such a woman and openly help Eva and Rafe’s case at the same time. It seemed to baffle their minds but that was because Nix tended to keep her intentions private. She knew the real Olivia and was well aware that the woman wasn’t like her father. “I am certain their case will be handled in the best way possible. Your father seems like a reasonable man, we needn’t fear things will soon be settled.” she assured her friend both women knowing that Nix did not think that man was reasonable in any way possible. She was merely keeping up appearance for now as not to arouse suspicion. “For now it’s best to enjoy the day. Care to accompany me to the gardens? My husband planted some grapes and I wish to see if they are ripe for picking.” she suggested figuring the garden would be a good place to go if they wanted somewhere private to chat.

Olivia walked slowly with her arm looped through Nix's, very aware of Pedros and George following behind. Phoenix's words only drove home that awareness. Yes, there was another fruit that would replenish her strength. Perhaps later in the day, she'd be able to slip away or some time to "herself." Keven had ordered both guards with her if she left the palace, but only one was required inside the grounds. Maybe she would go back and let George get some rest. It was hard for her, even in public like this, not to react differently to Pedros. He was a quiet man, but intense. She trusted him with more than her life. She trusted him with everything. Sometimes, she thought about the future and what it might mean for the two of them. Most of it was idle speculation. It would take a miracle for them to be together in the open. For now, and perhaps forever, their relationship would need to remain a secret. "Yes, I'm sure I have some leftover passion fruit in my quarters." That might be going a bit far, but she couldn't resist. It was all she could do not to smile.
Phoenix commented on Keven's reasonable outlook which Olivia knew was flat out lie. More and more, Olivia hated hiding her opinion in the shadows. If only she had more information, or better yet, a way to convince the King that her father was a cruel and power-hungry man. For some reason, which was unknown to her, the King trusted the Chancellor. It was a mistake that could very well get him killed and Olivia didn't want that. Vaan Niall was a good king, even if he was a bit oblivious at times. When something was brought to his attention, he usually handled matters in the best way possible. It was when something came up that Keven felt the need to whisper in his ear that Olivia worried about. She would do what she could, but it was hard to do such things in secret.
Phoenix suggested some time in her garden to enjoy the day, and Olivia silently applauded her. There was always a risk of being overheard, but it was much less likely in a private area. "Grapes sound wonderful," she said with a smile. "Perhaps I'll get my fruit despite my lack of shopping today." She plastered a smile to her face that was completely genuine. Getting out of the crowds would be very welcome in her current state of mind. She might have been born into one of the Five Houses, but that didn't mean she enjoyed court. It was tedious work and she was always in the public eye, often hated. She regretted that part, but she feared her father even more. Just the thought of crossing him sent a shiver up her spine and her smile faltered slightly. "Which husband planted them? Honestly, Nix, I don't think I could handle two. I don't see how you do it." Olivia carefully skirted around the fact that Drake hated her. She'd thought about letting him in on the fact that she wasn't like her father in anything but looks, but it was so very risky. Risk was something that she toyed with every day, but it was unwise to push her luck. The best kept secret was one that was never spoken of, even between the people who knew it. Too bad that Olivia's secret required it. She forced herself to lighten her steps. Regardless of what happened, Pedros wouldn't allow her to come to harm. Of that, she was sure.

There were a few things that Nix enjoyed about being who she was and having such a temper that everyone seemed to dislike about her. It meant that she did not need to constantly be surrounded by guards watching her every move as she did things. This allowed for the young woman to have privacy from time to time. Obviously being a lycan mean that it was easy to pick up conversations people were having from a distance but she did not have guards flanking her and watching every move she made. It made her feel sorry for her friend to have such a father who insisted she have protections all the time. Now the young woman knew her friend preferred the company of a certain guard more than she cared to admit but it still didn’t mean like anyone would constantly want to be watched. Granted if Nix had the choice if having her two mates serve as guards as well they might not make it out of their suite half the time. Trying to function in court would become a hard thing to do. Not that it wasn’t hard now simply getting out of bed. Hearing her friend mention that she had some left over passion fruit in her quarters caused the young Lady of Fairnix to laugh softly. “If not I am sure we can find you some delicious fruit to sample if you’re interested.” she teased knowing friend wasn’t too keen on trying anything else right now. Oddly enough she knew exactly what her friend was talking about and it took a lot not to glance over at Pedro who was only a few feet behind them most likely taking in the whole conversation.
Nix was finding it hard to lie like she had. The young woman was quite known to tell people things how they are and not really hold back. She prefers to be brutally honest then to lie but she knew that there were times when it wasn’t possible to simply tell the truth. In the case with her friend, she knew if anyone knew the truth about what her friend was helping her do, it would turn out horribly. Not only that but it would ruin lives and Nix wasn’t stupid enough to do such things. No she knew when she needed to lie and surprisingly the woman was good at it. So far no one seemed to suspect anything about her or anything that she was doing. Heck they didn’t even understand why it was she was friends with the Chancellors daughter when everyone hated the man. Keeping ones friends close and ones enemies even closer was what Nix was doing. Not that she actually thought of Olivia as her enemy. She had known the young woman for a great deal of time before her hatred for her father came to pass. Luckily it seemed she had a great deal in common with the other woman.
Her suggestion to head to the garden was an out of the blue kind of idea. She came up with it a few minutes ago figuring an open space was much easier to talk in rather than a crowded place where someone could be hiding. The fact that her husband was there all the time seemed to help make the place that much more sellable. Right now though, the young woman wasn’t aware if her husband was there or not. The man seemed to spend a lot of time there and she knew it was because it reminded him of home and a life before he was bitten. “I am sure we can find you some delicious fruit there." she added. While still having her arm loosely looped through her friends, Nix headed towards the garden a path she took quite often. When Drake tended to get lost in his gardening she would end up going to fetch him in order to spend at least a bit of the day with the man. Turning her head towards Olivia, Nix smiled a bit at the next comment. “Drake has the green thumb. As for my ability to handle to mates, it’s not that hard really. At least I don’t think so, things just seemed to fit in well and I’ve always said it the pieces fit perfectly it was meant to be.” she explained before smiling and leaning close to her friend. “Besides, the sex is amazing.” she added winking playfully before a light laugh escaped the young woman. Despite the dislike she knew Drake had for Olivia, the young woman knew he wouldn’t mind too much if they ran into him in the garden. She at least hoped he could play nice for a little bit. Not being able to tell him that Olivia was nothing like her father was killing her but she promised her friend and the young woman was going to keep that promise if need be. Walking up the path towards the garden, the young woman got more comfortable and relaxed once the crowd from the market slowly started to disappear.

Drake smiled to himself as he tended to his garden. Today had been devoted to taking care of whatever he desired. With Nix off doing her thing at the market and Gabe off doing whatever he pleased, they were all on good terms with themselves and each other. Spending time apart was necessary for them to have a healthy relationship even if they all joined back up for dinner before heading to bed. Things were complicated though, some nights he dealt with watching Nix go off to join Gabe while others he spend with her. The nights he spent away from her, he would have earplugs and wear earmuffs to cancel out any sounds the two would make, and he assumed that his brother would do the same when Nix was in his bedchambers.
Tending to his garden was amazing, there were flowers that he would water and prune but what he really cared about was the fruits, vegetables and roots that he had growing. There were bushes that he was waiting for because he wished to make blackberry cobbler but those were not ripe just yet, nor were the raspberries. His fruit trees were also under ripe. The plums were just about ready; he suspected that in a week they would be ripe enough to harvest, as would the peaches. The other fruit bearing trees were not in season just yet. Drake continued checking he type of fruit and vegetable enjoying his time in the garden alone. Until a very familiar scent hit his nose and he grinned. If Nix was in the garden it was because she was done at the market. But there was another scent with her, along with two guards.
The other scent was unknown to him until he turned and spotted Nix walking beside Olivia. Instantly his mood dropped but he kept a smile on his face as he stood and wiped his filthy hands on his pants. Drake knew that he was caked in soil, fertilizer and wet with water and sweat but he hardly cared. Nix cared about him and accepted him as he was and that was all that mattered. “My ladies how are you on this fine day?”

Olivia walked arm in arm with her friend, simply enjoying the day and the sunshine. She had a slight apprehension for running into Nix's mate, Drake, but she pushed the matter to the back of her mind. What would be, would be. Or as the saying went, "All will be well. All will be well and all manner of thing will be well." A bit repetitive, perhaps, but she was fond of the saying. The surroundings changed around the small retinue as they walked and Olivia could practically feel Pedros behind her. She hadn't had a moment alone with him in quite awhile and it was starting to take it's toll on the woman.
Sighing in longing, she pushed that matter to the back of her mind as well. If she was going to be around Drake, she had to get her mask in place. That should be her focus at the moment, but she was having trouble concentrating. Especially around Nix as she was. If she was being honest with herself, she envied Phoenix a great deal. They were more alike in personality than the average person knew. The difference was Olivia had to hide that part of herself while Phoenix was free to be herself whenever she wished, and she had two handsome mates to go with that freedom. Olivia was stuck putting out a front for people just so her father didn't find out that she wasn't his perfect little tool. She had Pedros, but he was a servant, and her father would never approve of their relationship.
Olivia and Phoenix reached the garden, and Olivia changed her demeanor. She left her arm looped through her friend's, but she walked with a bit longer stride. She lifted her chin and narrowed her eyes slightly. She added a slight sway to her hips and a cruel looking twist to her mouth. Olivia effectively turned herself into what people expected to see when they looked at her. Deep down, she hated herself for it. Often, she had dreamed of running away with Pedros, leaving all of this foolishness behind. She couldn't do it, though. She couldn't leave her father to whisper in the King's ear unchecked. She was in a perfect position to undo some of the things Keven had done, and she wasn't going to squander that chance.
Olivia skirted a bush and saw Drake watching them. His smile faltered slightly, and she wanted to kick herself. She hated putting such a strain on their marriage, even if she did nothing but stand there, but Nix was a valuable ally. Olivia nodded to the man in greeting, wondering if she could trust him. "Lord Drake." She kept her greeting short and terse until she'd made up her mind about him. His hatred for the Chancellor seemed genuine, but then again, so did her own cruelty. Finally extracting her arm from Phoenix's, Olivia let her fingers run along the leaves of a nearby fruit tree. "Your garden seems to be doing well. It takes dedication and devotion to help things grow. It's a trait I admire." Her words could be taken in a few different ways, but she'd found over the years that saying what you meant would often cause others to look for hidden meanings more than if you tried to hide a meaning in your words. The walk to the garden seemed shorter this time around then it had all those times she had taken it to fetch her husband. Of course she could have simply send Kaitlin or another one of the servants that worked for her family. However, Nix preferred to do things for herself. She felt better about it when she did something herself seeing as it meant she wasn’t helpless. There was always this sense of helplessness as well as laziness that came with having others do something simple for you. Of course there were times she couldn’t find time between her work to really do something, so she would ask someone, but most of the time, the young woman tried to do things herself. Help was nice, but not always. Despite the distance, she found herself in the garden before she knew it and the familiar scent of her husband hit her as another smile broke out on her face.
No matter what her mood, the moment she knew one of her mates was nearby, the young woman’s mood changed automatically. Of course she knew that right now, her friends mood wasn’t that great. Not only could she not spend alone time with her own love, she was forced to play nice around Drake. Nix knew that Drake did not have any positive perspectives about her friend given who her father is, and often times the young woman wished she could tell him about Olivia. Why it was that she was one of the few who saw how Olivia really was, Nix would never know but she did know one thing, they both have a lot of similarities. It had been that which caused the two women to become friends in the first place. Who would have thought their dislike for the others father would bring them all that much closer.
When the young lycan spotted her mate not too far from where they were, Nix’s gaze traveled down to her friend whom she could see was already prepping herself to put on a show. This was really one secret she did not like to keep from her mates but it was worth it if it meant keeping their lives less complicated then they already were. If anyone overheard anything it would be Olivia who would suffer and she could not do that to her friend. “Not even near each other yet, and I could already cut the tension with a knife.” she mused sighing a bit before putting on a cheerful demeanor. It wasn’t hard to notice that both her mate and friend disliked being around each other. It was at times like these that Nix wished people wouldn’t judge her friend based on what her father did. Granted she was the one that continued to portray herself as a follower. “Quite well my love, we are just taking a stroll.” she replied referring to his question as to how they were while she closed the short distance between them, placing a quick kiss to Drakes cheek. With the grapes still in her hands, Nix continued to pick at the bunch, occasionally popping one into her mouth while she listened to the casual chit chat that her friend and mate were attempting. “With all the time he spends out here, often times I wonder whom he has more dedication for, this garden or myself.” she teased a light laugh escaping her as she offered her mate a grape. They might not be as good as her mates, but she had been hungry and coming here only to find out they weren’t ready to eat would have spoiled her good mood. “Lady Olivia, you must try something from his garden as my word alone would not do well for his reputation.” she added smiling before looking around to see if anything looked ripe that she could offer her friend. So far it seemed they were doing well, both were playing nice for now. Her eyes traveled towards her mates for a moment taking in the dirt, water and sweat that seemed to cake his body. Laughing, she reached her slender hand forward lightly brushing some dirt off his shoulder. “Are you sure you’ve gotten all the dirt in the garden? It does look like you might have missed some.” she added playfully.

Drake really could not place why he did not like Olivia but there was always something off about her. He always acted as if he were clueless to the way she changed her posture once anyone else came into sight. The way she carried herself before she noticed him was carefree and he smiled at that but she was always rigid when he was around. Deep down he hoped it wasn’t because he had done something in the past to offend her but until they could tolerate each other with ease there would be no way to tell what was in the future for their friendship, if it could be called that. “Lady Olivia,” he greeted once more before grinning at Nix. Hearing Olivia compliment him and his garden was a bit surprising and it took a minute for the shock to wear off but as soon as it did he heard his beautiful mate teasing him about dedication. Before he could open his mouth to respond he saw Nix offering him a grape, he happily accepted and popped it into his mouth before shaking his head and laughing at Nix.
“Thank you Lady Olivia that means a lot, and Nix you have nothing to worry about, this garden is just a hobby you are more than that.” He stated with a grin before looking around for something that was ripe that Olivia could try. Now that he thought of it Olivia had never tried anything from his garden and since Nix suggested it he hoped that she would accept and try something even if she ended up disliking it. He was finding it hard to find a fruit that was perfectly ripe and Nix was only helping distract him by brushing dirt off his shoulder. It caused him to laugh and shake his head. “I’m sure I missed quite a bit but give me some time and you’ll be wondering where I’ve gone under all the dirt and soil.” He teased while spotting just the right fruit for her to try. Slowly he excused himself from the girls so he could grab the fruit he had spotted.
The season was good for him, since the weather had not been, drastic he still had all of his crops, and they were not infested with bugs or disfigured by mold. Some had a few bruises from when he would check to see how they were doing but nothing too horrible. His apple trees had been doing splendid but they were not ripe as of now but luckily, he had a peach tree that was ready to be harvested. That was going to be his next task for the day. Once he had a peach in his hand he walked over to the water hose he had nearby and rinsed it before walking back to the girls. “This peach is ripe would you like to try it? If you like it I can bring a basket of them to you after I get them all harvested.” He offered politely finding it easier to be civil towards Olivia while in the garden. He would even make some peach cobbler for the girls if they desired.
