Boy did Summer have a surprise for her sister. She knew Dawn was probably planning on sleeping in, but Summer had other plans. Oh, yes. It was their birthday! And they hadn't gone shopping in a while. They had hardly spent any time with each other the last few weeks, actually. So what was Summer going to do? What she always did on their birthday. Even when they were little. She was going to drag her sister out of bed so they could go have some fun at the plaza stores.
She quietly unlocked the door and slipped into Dawn's home. Her sister gave her a key so if Angel and Summer wanted to stay the night at Dawns they could get in and out without disturbing Dawn. She quietly tip toed through the house and up the stairs. Of course there was an alternative motive to her plans. A little birdie from the palace let it slip that Vaan not only had goo goo eyes for Dawn, but Dawn had her own goo goo eyes discreetly placed on the king of the lycans. Summer smirked at the very thought. She was going to try and find something sexy that Dawn would actually wear around the castle. Something to tempt Vaan a little more because Summer knew her sister. Dawn wasn't going to make the first move. If anything was going to happen between the two Vaan would be the one to do it. He just needed a few nudges, and a sexy outfit would help nudge him in the right direction.
Summer tip toed upstairs to Dawn bedroom, grinning mischievously before she burst into the bed room. "Rise and shine, sleepy head! It's our special day!" She announced happily as she went to the windows and opened up the curtains to the window before turning to bed. "Come on, Sis! Time to get up." She said excitedly as she slipped off her shoes and flopped onto the bed next to her sister, grinning playfully. Summer knew she was probably going to have to yank the covers off and dump Dawn out of the bed, but she thought she would at least give Dawn a chance to get out of the bed herself. It used to be that Summer would just scampering in and rip the covers off and drag Summer out of the bed when they were younger.

If there was one thing Dawn never got enough of it was sleep. Most nights she was in the palace running around, checking guards, checking the tree lines for anything suspicious, and trying not to murder the royal family every time one of them slipped away right under her nose to go do things only the Luna knew. So anyone could imagine the only thing she had planned when she got off work right at midnight, the early morning of Summer and her birthday. Yes, sleep. The Captain had been thinking about it the whole day since she rarely took days off, a few years she hadn’t even bothered doing so for her birthday but this year she felt it was time for some rest and relaxation.
As she entered her home, she took note that the place was in need of a good dusting whenever she finally woke up. It had been some time since Dawn had done plain house hold chores, in truth some lycans and humans found them annoying. For Dawn, they were a way to keep her mind off work while getting something accomplished. But sleep came first, so after locking the door and checking the windows were still secure, she crashed on her bed not even bothering to change out of her jeans and leather corset. Her high heel boots still encased her petite feet but dangled off the edge of the bed while she wrapped the comforter around her body for some warm from the chilly winter air. The next few hours passed in complete bliss for Dawn, her mind slipped away allowing her to grab a good eight hours of sleep. Her body was so worn out she didn’t dream or if she did her mind didn’t have the strength to recall them. It was wonderful to be back in her own bed for a change instead of in some stranger’s at the palace trying to catch a nap between shifts. One bad thing about her being this tired and worn out, her defenses were left unattended, her body completely helpless if someone decided to enter her home since her ears weren’t toned in on anything but regulating her steady breathing. Snuggling deeper into her blankets, she wasn’t prepared for the door being slammed opened around eight in the morning by her overly enthusiastic sister, Summer. Her body jerked up right while her hand grabbed the blade she kept under her pillow for an emergency, ready to take on the invader. As her blurry vision cleared, she saw her sister fluttering around the room opening the curtains, allowing bright sunlight to spill in, blinding Dawn instantly.
Growling, she dropped the dagger on the bedside table before rubbing at her eyes trying to gain back her visions. Dawn could have kicked her sister for that poor decision of opening the curtains so suddenly; her eyes were very sensitive to bright light being shined in her eyes leaving her blind for a good twenty seconds. “Why, dear Luna, did I ever give you a key?” Instead of moving out of the bed, she drew the blanket over her head to hide under the fabric hoping her twin would take the hint. A slightly squeal came from her mouth at the sudden body dropping on the bed next to her forcing her to smile while in hiding. “Dare I ever try to ask you to spend your day with your mate?” Not because she wanted them to have a kid but simply because Dawn was far too tired to even think of hopping out of bed.

She didn't take any offense to the fact that Dawn's first reaction was to pull a dagger on her sister. She was the captain of the guards after all. It was only natural that she had a dagger under her pillow. If she wasn't mistaken, angel had a couple of daggers under their pillows as well, not that Summer ever used any of them. "Because I'm your sister and you love me and wouldn't want me stuck out in the cold." She grinned and batted her eyes playfully, a common gesture Summer used on her "older" sister all the time. Not that it every got very cold in the tropics. The nights were usually pretty cold, but not so cold that you could freeze to death.
"Aww... come on, Dawn. When was the last time we actually spent our birthday together?" Ages would have been a perfect way to describe it. It had been a few years at least. More than a few actually. She spent enough time with Dawn to keep up with her sister, but they hadn't spent time together on their birthday in ages. They used to spend time together on their birthday all the time. Now they hardly ever spent time with each other on their birthday. "Besides, Angel and I have plans for later tonight. He has to work right now while you're out with me." She said happily as she climbed out of the bed and reached to her purse, pulling out a little box decorated with pretty black and gold wrapping paper and a matching stringy bow.
Inside were a pair of earrings she made for her sister. Some of the ones she sells at her booth. It was simple. A dark golden chain with some little rhinestone charms hanging from it every few links. And on top of that, a black feather with white spots was added to it. Lately, Summer had taken up the hobby of making jewelry with a feather motif to it. She usually made a few in one day while she was at her booth. Some people would stop and watch, and usually as she was working on a piece she would talk them into something. "Here, open this. Maybe it'll perk you up more. Get you in the mood for shopping. " She stated playfully as she sat next to her sister. She knew Dawn already had a pair of earrings she bought from Summer when she first opened the store. She wore them all the time, but Dawn thought she would like these too. Just a little change every once in a while wasn't so bad.

Sighing heavily while hiding under the blanket, Dawn tried to think of good ways to get her sister to leave her in peace for the day. It wasn’t as easy as someone might think to trick their sibling into exiting their house since it was their birthday. She was cold to the guards under her command, but her sister was one of the Captain’s biggest weaknesses, family in general was her biggest weakness. There wasn’t much she wouldn’t do to see Summer smile aside from quitting being captain of the guards. Peeking out from her ‘hiding’ place, a smirk formed over her lips watching Summer bat her eyelashes. Oh yes, that very look had gotten her out of many troubles from their parents growing up, unfortunately for her, Dawn was immune to it. “Oh no, I could never please the little princess out in the cold. What would mom say?” There was a clear teasing note to her voice feeling far more at ease being around her sister then she had in a long time. Between her short attention span around Vaan and trying not to strangle Lady Adrienne, she sometimes wondered how much more she could spread herself. “Seven years ago, when you took me to a male strip club where, if you remember correctly, Angel found us and nearly killed a male eyeing your backside.” Smirking, Dawn finally pushed the blanket away to uncover her head. That birthday had been one of her favorites, because watching her brother in law punch the guy and throw her sister over his shoulder like some cave man had been priceless. They hadn’t spent as much time together as she would have liked but it was hard to find time to leave the palace without feeling like someone was going to attempt to murder either Henry or Vaan. The Duke and Duchess she wasn’t worried for as much since Richard had a very good way of keeping an eye on his adventurist wife. She rather missed their younger years where they spent every birthday together having fun and exploring the island. It was a shame they had to grow up. “Clearly you’re not going to take a no so I’ll save my breath on arguing.” Leaning over, she reached under her bed and pulled out a purple and silver wrapped present with a dark plum ribbon. The gift had been something Dawn had seen a good month ago while tailing Prince Henry and instantly thought of her sister. Inside the box rested a gold chain with a pretty pink hibiscus flower pendent outlined in gold. “Happy birthday.” “If I get perked up anymore the world might end by me being in a good mood.” Her finger tugged at the bow to untie it before using a sharp nail to cut through the tape that kept the paper hugged to the object. Opening the little box, her mouth hung down slightly in awe at the pretty earrings. “Oh Summer, thank you.” She gave her sister a warm hug while smiling at her brightly. She owned a few pairs of earrings but the ones she always wear were the diamond studs, simple but very pretty. However the feather charm ones might replace them instead. “Let me get changed and we can go.” Dawn slipped out of her bed and walked over to the closet to pull out some clothes before hitting the bathroom. In ten minutes, Dawn had scrubbed her old make up off, showered, thrown clothes on, and applied eyeliner. Her old earrings had been replaced with the new ones which she flipped her hair out of the way to show off. “You always did have the best jewelry on the island.” Picking up her purse off a chair in the corner of the room, she nodded towards the door to get Summer to move her butt.

A scowl flashed across her face at the mention of that indiscretion. It was harmless fun at a male strip club. How was she to know that Angel would come busting in there and do what he did? "Was it really necessary to bring that up?" She sighed a little and slumped. She really did cause some trouble that day. She wasn't very proud of that, and she didn't think Angel would find any harm in the two of them stuffing guys thongs with one dollar bills. Guess that was Summer's mistake. She brightened up a little more for a minute and bounced on the bed a little. "Of course I'm not. Do I ever?" She teased playfully. She was just as stubborn as Dawn was. This was one tradition Summer was definitely not going to let die.
She perked a little more when she pulled out a box from under the bed as she held Dawn's gift out. "Happy birthday, Dawn." She exchanged the gifts with delight and carefully opened the gift, finding the paper too pretty to completely rip into. She opened the box and let out a little gasp. "It's gorgeous, Dawn. Thank you so much!" She happily hugged her sister. She brushed a sister kiss over Dawn's cheek before she pulled back. "Yes, go get dressed! We're having a fun filled day of shopping. " She said teasingly as she got up from Dawn's bed. She let Dawn get dressed while she exchanged her current necklace for the new one, even if it didn't exactly match. Pink and green went together after all. Smiling faintly she fingered the necklace for a moment, studying the hibiscus that hung on the chain. She loved it! It was so Summer. She loved hibiscuses. They were just so lovely. And exotic.
While Dawn was getting dressed, Summer slipped on her shoes and got her purse. She smirked as Dawn came back in. "No black?" She teased playfully as she made her way over to the bedroom door. She smiled proudly as Dawn complimented the earrings. "What can I say? Products that are from local artists are more appealing to the people of the area." She said calmly as she led the way downstairs. It was true enough. People liked to hear that all the products in her booth were from the locals.

“I’m glad you like it.” Smiling after she returned to the room, Dawn noticed the change of necklaces very happy to have found something Summer liked. It was a well known fact in their family of her love of that particular flower mostly because of how much they did remind everyone of Summer. The bright colors and open friendliness about hibiscuses were her sister to the ‘t’. “I’m finding it hard to think of a fun day being full of shopping. My idea of fun would be me getting all the sleep I’ve been lacking for the past two weeks.” That was a lie, a fun day for her would have been spending time with Vaan without fear of Lady Adrienne getting the wrong idea about them. Dawn knew she had feelings for the King, but that didn’t mean they couldn’t be friends without anything else. Why was it so hard for a man and woman to be merely friends? She doubted it helped that every time her eyes locked with his she suddenly had the urge to roll over at his feet, which wouldn’t have looked very good for a Captain to do even for her King.
“Of course it was completely necessary to bring up because I couldn’t stop laughing for three days straight.” Dawn playfully teased her sister while they made their way down the stairs. In truth, she had pictures of that night all the way up to Angel entering the club to pull Summer out. A couple of those pictures weren’t completely kosher to show anyone but they did make excellent black mail if the time ever came for her to need it. It was a good thing her sister had confessed everything had been her idea because Dawn had no doubt if she hadn’t her brother in law would have never talked to her again. That would have made working with him very awkward and would have pained her since he was a good friend of hers.
“I save the black for intimating the little boys at the palace.” Laughing, Dawn opened the front door to allow Summer to step outside before locking it behind her. “Well, at least the weather is being nice.” Reaching a hand to her forehead, she glanced up at the blue sky pleased not to see a single cloud, fluffy and light or dark and heavy. Her eyes glanced over at Summer with a warm smile on her lips, surprisingly not in as foul a mood as a normal woman should be so maybe those eight hours of sleep had been enough. “Are we on a hunt for anything in particular?” It was rare for her to be up to anything without a motive behind it and something nagged at the back of Dawn’s mind that they were going to get into trouble before the sun had set.
Her heels were already clicking against the pavement heading towards the shops located in the town. Already the tension in her shoulders seemed to be melting away with each step which took her farther away from the palace. If anything happened on the one day she took off it would be a true miracle to say the least. Of course, if something did happen to Vaan she had no doubt the effect would trouble her mind deeply.

"Oh come on. You know you like it." Summer grinned playfully. She knew Dawn was a girly girl at heart. She may have not been quite the girly girl that Summer was, but Summer saw sides of Dawn no one else ever did. She knew her sister had a flare for fashion and pretty baubles and accessories. She just hid it very well.
A laugh escaped her lips as she shook her head. "You do realize black is one of those, sexy colors right?" The question was teasing of course. Not all things in black looked sexy. But when you saw a little black dress, they were usually extremely sexy. And Dawn did have a thing for wearing black. Hmmm that gave Summer a little idea. Maybe if she could find something that was "work appropriate" and black Dawn would buy it. "Or is that how you intimidate them? With that amazing sex appeal of yours? " She gave her sister a knowing grin as they made their way outside. She slipped on a pair of sunglasses and shrugged her shoulder. "Nothing in particular. I need some new shoes, but other than that, nothing at all in particular." She wasn't going to sit there and tell her sister exactly what Summer's plan was. If Dawn knew what Summer really had planned she never would go shopping with Summer. Then they wouldn't have a very happy birthday.
She glanced down to her sister's feet as she heard the distinct click of her heels against the pavement. She didn't see how Dawn did it. I mean, Summer did enjoy her heels, but she couldn't wear them all day every day like her sister. Not if she had a job like Dawn's. She just didn't see how she did it. Summer couldn't put her feet through that much pain that often"Maybe we can find you some flats or sandals or something." She looked to her sister with a playful grin. She wasn't even sure Dawn owned a pair or flats of any kind. As a matter of fact, Summer couldn't even see Dawn in flats. She was so used to seeing her sister with heels she just couldn't seem to picture her with anything else.

“You’ll never get me to admit it.” Dawn grinned right back at her sister with the same exact playfulness. It was true, she loved to shop and she sure had the money to buy anything she wanted but there just was no cause for it. In her home she had a whole closet of clothes ranging from dresses to jeans with at least two accessories to match, some given to her by Summer and some she had spotted while babysitting the Prince. But when one makes a living guarding the King and his family there was no reason to wear so many pretty little pieces of jewelry that could easily be used against her in a fight. It was why her earrings never dangled down unless she had a day off, there were far too many ways someone could grab one and with enough force yank it clear out of her lobe.
“What sex appeal? My sister seems to let it slip her mind I have more balls then most of the guards I command.” They didn’t call her a cold ball busting bitch for nothing. It hurt deep down, but Dawn never let it get to her. Well, aside from a slight slap to her self-esteem which lately seemed to be getting smaller and smaller. However, Summer was up to something, Dawn knew that look in her eye. It was that same look her sister had gotten every time she was about to plan or do something that would make Dawn wish she’d known before hand to prevent it. “Every time you said you were ‘up to nothing in particular’ when we were little it meant me running to save you from falling out of a tree or from saying the wrong thing to someone and starting a fight without meaning to.” Her sister had a knack for bringing out the cat in any other woman and the cowardly bully in some men by saying something no one else would say.
“Flats?” Dawn sounded downright appalled with a mix of teasing in her tone knowing her sister was only joking. The last time she had worn anything without a heel had been in their high school days, even then it had been only once a week she’d worn flip flops. There was just something about wearing heels that she loved, it was really the only girly thing she could wore while being Captain that no one could say or look at her funny for. Her combat boots all had an extra inch to their heels which she wore normally on days she was strictly training new recruits and Vaan was staying in his office the majority of the day. “I can’t imagine stepping foot into anything without a heel unless I’m going barefoot.” Blinking, she glanced over and smiled at Summer before shrugging. “I doubt I’d wear them anyways so why waste money on them.” Wearing heels had become so much a part of her life that she didn’t notice the pain anymore, her feet had toughened up years ago and still today the female recruits still asked questions baffled by her ability to fight in any heel size without falling on her ass.
“Summer, I’ve been contemplating about leaving the palace for the past few weeks. My mind keeps thinking about doing what mom did before she meet dad, just running in the woods were weeks on end without a real destination in mind.” In truth, she was tired to seeing Vaan wasting his time with Adrienne who didn’t care about him beyond his power and money. The poor king was so naive to that woman’s ways that it made Dawn sick to her stomach. She didn’t care if he was with her as long as he was happy and Lady Adrienne wasn’t to make him happy, hell their fights were getting more and more frequent. Each one louder than the last. Keeping her eyes focused ahead, she didn’t want Summer seeing how truly alone she felt most days. Summer had Angel, whom any day they could have kids. Their parents had each other. What did Dawn have? Her job? A job which she questioned her ability to maintain every day.

"You have to let me come over and pick out your dress for the masquerade ball! I know you have the perfect dress hanging in there somewhere." Summer knew her sister had the perfect dress in there for the ball. And Summer knew it was probably something sexy that would definitely catch Vaan's attention. Something that would draw his attention away from his bed fellow of a whore and to Dawn. She studied her sister thoughtfully. She knew Dawn liked to shop. It was a shame her sister hardly ever wore the clothes in her closet. "Either that or you're going to have to start letting me borrow the stuff you don't wear. " She shot her sister with a grein as she routed through her purse for some lip gloss and quickly slicked it on in two quick movements.
"Oh please. You seem to be the only one who is unaware of the raging sex appeal that oozes from every pore of you." She teased as she looked to Dawn for a moment. "It's a wonder you don't have a new bed fellow every night." She knew her sister. She had sex appeal, and she did sleep with people, but she certainly didn't take a bed fellow every night. Dawn wasn't that sort of woman after all. No, the resident whore was Prince Henry... although... with the news of a soon to be princess on the way to join the family... that may change. Such a shame Adrienne will be all on her own now.
She studied her sister when she started talking about quitting the force. Somehow, Summer couldn't see that ever actually happening. Dawn loved it . She would sit at the kitchen table every morning and watch their father in fascination as he got ready to work. Summer imagined that Dawn had her own little process every morning like their father did. What suddenly brought this on? Golden eyes studied her intently for a moment. "Is this because of that slut Adrienne?" She asked calmly. She had been around her sister and work, and she knew how she felt about Adrienne. Vaan was the only man in the world who was ignorant to that little whore's ways. She was only warming the king's bed because of the power and money she thought she would get for it. There was no way Vaan would be stupid enough to make her queen though. "Or do you really want to quit?" She asked asked a little more gentle than her last question.

Smirking, Dawn rolled her eyes while she pulled out a pair of her own sunglasses to slip over her sensitive eyes. It had taken a lot of faking on her part not to let it slip while she had been training to be a guard and still while she was Captain that her eyes were 100% normal by lycan standards. “You should worry about what you’re going to be wearing since you’ll be there too.” It was only fitting her sister would be present if Angel was as well for such a grand event. Besides, it would only be for a few hours and that wasn’t enough time for the courtiers to dig their claws into her sister without Angel punching someone. Besides, she had a very good idea of which dress was going to be used for the masquerade party and wasn’t sure what her sister would think at the sight of it. “You already have a house key, I don’t see why you even bother asking to borrow stuff, just take it. It’s not like I do inventory on my stuff. Sooner or later I’m going to need to donate some of it.” Glancing over at Summer, she grinned trying not to laugh. “I’m starting to run out of closet space.” It was for the most part a joke since the thing that really took up most of her closet space was her extensive high heel and boots collection. If buying shoes was a drug, she’d be a complete mess.
This time when Dawn rolled her eyes it wasn’t because her sister was being funny or cute and sweet, it was because she was being ridiculous when speaking of her ‘sex appeal’. “If I remember correctly you were the one causing trouble with guys when we were growing up, I merely stood by making sure their girlfriends didn’t strangle you.” Her nose scrunched up at the mention of having a new guy in her bed every night. In truth, that sounded more like a hassle then it was worth. And having a different scent on her body every day would drive her insane; it was bad enough on the rare times she did sleep around. The smell of the male she’d been with would cloud her nose until she scrubbed her skin raw to remove it and sometimes it wouldn’t leave for a few days no matter how hard she tried. All she really wanted was one guy, but that seemed to be the one thing she couldn’t get her fingers on.
Warm brown eyes stared back at Summer’s when the question was asked and she pondered all the many ways she could respond back. She couldn’t deny there was a small factor in the equation that Adrienne’s presence was part of the reason. But there was also just the way everything was wearing down on her both body and mind. Everything came back to the one small little fact she was a female. Everywhere in the court she heard it all whispered. Would a male be doing a better job? Would a male be able to prevent so many of Vaan’s family from slipping out from their guards? The worst was when it came from the Chancellor that man had a way of making her feel like a child and for that she wanted to rip his throat open and drink his blood. “I can’t keep watching her make a complete fool out of him.” Swallowing, her feet were moving on auto pilot while working towards the shopping center of the town. “It’s getting harder to keep my mouth shut.” The unspoken ‘no’ to the second question hung in the air. They both knew how much Dawn loved her job, she hated the doubts planted by the damn Chancellor and his followers and quitting would only prove them right.

She grinned and winked. "Oh, don't worry. I have just the dress in mind. And I swear... I'm going to get angel into formal wear if I have to wrestle him to the ground myself." It was next to impossible to get her mate to wear anything other than his deerskin pants. It could be very frustrating. She could understand why he wore it, and she didn't mind him wearing the deer skins ...during any normal day of the week, but there was no way he could wear deer skins to a masquerade ball. She was going to have to find a way to sweet talk her mate into something more formal. It didn't have to be as formal as a tux, but it did have to be somewhat formal. She studied her sister with a smile. "So what dress are you going to wear for the masquerade?" Hopefully something sexy. Something that would get Vaan's attention and draw him away from Adrienne.
She smirked at her sister's comments. "How do you know I haven't already been raiding your closet when you're not around?"Summer only did that on fashion emergencies of course. Usually if she saw something her sister had that she liked she usually asked if she wanted it or wore it before she took it. And after a while she usually returned them so Dawn could actually wear them. It was something the two of them did for years now. Since they were teenagers at least. Summer didn't mind sharing her thing. Her and her sister wore the same sizes for the most part, so it was easy for them to swap clothes on occasion.
Summer let out a soft little humph at Dawn's comments about girlfriends of her blasts from the past. "Hey, in my defense... some of those guys didn't tell me they were still with their girlfriends." It was true. Some of her boyfriends thought they could cheat with her and thought they could get away with it. Usually Dawn had to save her ass from crazy girlfriends too. Sometimes though, Summer was the one who flirted and got herself into trouble. Why was it men couldn't keep their eyes off of other women when they're in relationships? It's not that hard. Especially if you're getting it good from another woman. Men were such idiots.
She frowned softly "Then don't give up! Damn it Dawn... when have you ever been the one to let someone get in your way? Adrienne is not worth your job, is she?" Summer hated all the trouble Adrienne caused. It was like the woman was some ugly rash that wouldn't go away. And now she was interfering with Dawn's career. That woman had to go. If only Vaan wasn't so ignorant to his mistress and his chancellor. The People would think more of him that was for certain. "Why don't you tell him, Dawn? You're the captain of the guard. Surely he'll believe you?" Surely. It was important that the King trusted the captain of the guard enough to believe the things they told him. As much as Summer hated Dawn's job, she didn't want her sister to quite just because of the Court Slut. It would be only a matter of time before Vaan finally saw through her and dumped her on her ass. Dawn just needed to give a little nudge to Vaan.

It wasn’t easy to keep a straight face while trying to picture Angel in formal wear. It was so hard to not do so that Dawn did after a few minutes of failing at seeing him in her mind outside of those damn pants. She threw her head back and howled in laughter at the air. Her brother in law was such an odd ball who loved wearing deer skins and anything else was instantly overlooked. “If you manage to get him to wear something aside from those pants, I’ll make the both of you dinner.” Cooking wasn’t something she loved doing but she didn’t hate it. It was one of those things that if someone else could do it for her, Dawn was content letting them. It didn’t matter that she’d been told her food was amazing or some of the best they’d ever had, she just didn’t find any pleasure or hate in the act of cooking. “Something black.” Dawn grinned back at her sister not wanting to give away the surprise of her dress. The black dress was very flattering on her body, it drew out her curves and helped to minimize the muscle definition which had taken place along her arms while at the same time drawing attention to her toned legs.
“Oh, I know you do. You’re not very good at covering up your scent and it tends to linger over a few days.” Dawn wasn’t saying her twin was smelly but they had grown up together for so many years it was second nature for her nose to pick up on Summer’s personal scent. Smirking at Summer, she knew every single little emergency that had come up where her sister had needed a special something for some event. It was only fair since growing up Dawn had a tendency to do the same by swiping a shirt or skirt from Summer’s closet. “Not that I mind. I stole a good share of your clothes back in school.” Which were always washed properly and returned the next day out of politeness to her sister.
“True, but you did always have a way of a getting the stupid ones to flock to you. Even if they were good looking ones.” A few times she’d been a little sad to mess up a guy’s face just because he’d let her sister play her cute little charms on him or if he was stupid enough to ‘forget’ he had a girlfriend. To the later, Dawn felt no remorse about punching them in the face to beat their memory back into place.
“No, the hell she isn’t worth it, but Summer…you don’t understand the amount of pain it brings me trying to not break her head against the nearest wall every time I smell another male on her.” There that was as close to admitting she had true feelings for Vaan was Dawn was ever getting. Admitting she cared about Vaan aside from being his Captain would bring far too much heat over her head that she wasn’t ready for. Besides his attention was wrapped around Adrienne and when compared to the soft and curvy lady, she had a hard time feeling adequate. “Yes, Captain of the Guard, not someone that blabs about other people’s business. I’m the muscle not another court member trying to cause trouble.” It would have been too easy to bring forth evidence and claims against the slut, but she wasn’t the kind of woman. If Adrienne was on her way out to the door, she didn’t want to rush it out of fear Vaan would snap at her for not speaking up sooner. All in all, it made her feel like a coward.

She couldn't help but laugh either. Not as much as her sister though because trying to dress her heathen of a husband like a normal person was a difficult task. He just wouldn't conform in any way. She supposed that was a part of him she liked. His want to be himself instead of conforming to society. When she did get him into some modern clothes though, he looked all the more handsome. She looked to her sister for a moment before shaking her head. "It's all just a matter of sweet talking and bribery in the form of sex." Summer grinned knowingly. Yes, if she just sweet talked him a little bit and plied him with plenty of love making, she might have some success, but there was also the chance that she would have to wrestle him to the ground before he gave in and got dressed in modern clothing.
She shot a knowing look at her sister. She kind of figure her sister knew she snuck in and out of her closet for clothes, but she never complained, and Summer was prompt about the return of those clothes to Dawn's closet. "I knew you were taking stuff from my closet. I never said anything since apparently I had the better sense of style in high school." She grinned playfully as the two sisters happily walked along the side walk, moving further and further into the village. Yes, Dawn was so much better at sneaking. Summer was not much of a stealthy woman. She knew that. She knew her sister knew she snuck into her closet. As stated earlier, Summer did return the clothes as promptly as possible.
She frowned at her sister. How could Dawn think like that? "Your job is to protect the royal family, Dawn. To keep them from harm. Adrienne may not physically be causing harm, but she's hurting him. You have to tell him, Dawn..." It may have not been Dawn's buisness to stick her nose in personal affairs, but Summer did have a point. It was Dawn's job to keep the royal family from harm, and Adrienne.... She was causing serious harm. Surely Dawn could see that reasoning? She had to tell Vaan. Summer could understand why she didn't want to, but she had to. Vaan had a right to know what all was going on behind his back.

Dawn rolled her eyes up but smirked when her ears caught what the bribery was Summer used on Angel. It made sense since the guy had a hard time even thinking of putting on some form of clothing that was common for the present era. He loved to hold tight to his traditions and no one in their family was willing to even fight him on that matter. It was part of who Angel was, end of story in her mind. She’d found him in the woods a savage lycan mad with his change and had the scars along her stomach and back to prove the fights they’d gotten into while she tried to teach him to control the wolf and not let his wolf control him. It wasn’t a surprise to her when he learned much quicker than most turned humans. “When you two have a cachorro, you better be naming after me. I want some recognition for bring you two together.” A smirk sat on her lips while flipping her hair out of her face letting the wind do most of the work. It wasn’t often she brought up the small fact she’d brought Angel to their home that night or told him to sit next to Summer because she thought they’d be good friends. Being friends never came as a problem for them.
“Why did you have to put it like that?” Whenever Summer said something meaningful, it was never wrong. She was right in that Dawn’s duties involved protecting the family from both physical and mental troubles, the mental one wasn’t as noted as the obvious physical one but it was in the job still. “How can I possibly tell him the woman he thinks is devoted solely to him is being a common vagabundo? When he’s been nothing but faithful to her?” It really wasn’t fair in her mind. Vaan gave that bitch practically everything and she still wanted more. More money. More power. Just more. All in all, it was frustrating the hell out of her trying to solve Vaan’s problems when she was nothing but his friend. But as his friend she suppose she had to tell him about Adrienne. What that tramp was doing to him wasn’t right and Dawn couldn’t watch it happening any longer.
Finally spotting one of her favorite stores where she found some of her best tops she grinned at Summer. The shop was well known for having those cute corsets and tight tops she was a fan of and held some of the best black dresses as well. “Are you ready for this?” The question was only said in teasing before she took her sister’s hand and led her to the store. The door bell chimed alerting the shop owner they had entered as Dawn smiled warmly at the woman who smelled 100% human. “Hello Terra.” Releasing her sister’s hand, she began to skimming over the nearest rack taking her time to pause over a couple of corsets.

Summer could understand why Angel was always so adamant about what he wore and how he looked. It was a part of him. And Summer would never change that about him. She loved him too much to change who he was. She smiled faintly as she thought about the day he started talking her into styling their bedroom like a teepee. The big mocos actually talked her into it. It took a while, but a part of her was glad she did. It was fun and unique, and it made Angel feel more at home. She saddened a little at the mention of pups. Why did Dawn have to go there? The subject of pups just seemed to grow into more and more of a sore subject these days. She was almost three hundred years old and it seemed like she was no closer to having pups. She was starting to wonder if she ever would have pups really. She didn't let the hurt show though. Not to her sister. It was their birthday, and she didn't want her stupid worries to ruin their big day. In stead she let out a snort of amusement and shook her head softly. "I will not be forced into naming my pups after someone. I will name them what I wish to name them." She looked to Dawn, smirking as they made their way down the sidewalk.
"Because it's the truth and you know it, Dawn." Her expression grew somber as Summer watched her sister struggle. Others might not be able to read Dawn, but Summer knew when something was bothering her sister. She just got this feeling when something was up with Dawn. "No one said it would be easy... but you have to. The woman does not deserve neither Vaan nor the position she's been given so far. And he deserves to know the truth, Dawn... you're the only one with the power to tell him who will." It was true. Adrienne the Whore needed to be kicked off that pedestal she apparently put herself on. She never should have put herself there in the first place really, but she did and it was about time someone took her down from it. Dawn was the only person who could tell Vaan that would. The Chancellor certainly wasn't going to talk Vaan into getting rid of Adrienne. That ... garbage... was probably sleeping with Adrienne too.
She looked to the shop and frowned softly. She had only been in the shop a few times. They didn't exactly carry her taste in clothing. She studied some of the rather provocative lingerie that laid on one wall for a moment. "Too bad you can't find deerskin lingerie... I'll bet Angel would really go for that." She grinned at her sister, watching Dawn as she browsed through some corsets. If she ever did find deerskin lingerie, she just might have to get it. Just to get Angel's attention. She thought he would love that.
