She shook her head softly when Vaan told her what the dowry would be. It was much too expensive if you asked her, but she supposed a part of her should be happy. Most of that money would go towards keeping her mother and Helena comfortable. She still didn't approve of it. Sixty thousand dollars was just too much. George Cali had plenty of money. He didn't really need it.
She sighed when Vaan agreed that she would not have to share a bed. She just didn't trust herself in the same bed as Henry. The man may have been a pig, but he knew how to charm a woman into a bed, and it would be easy for him to charm her into sleeping with him if they were sharing the same bed. She didn't want to sleep with him. So long as he continued to whore around, as much as she wanted to sleep with him, she didn't want anything to do with sex with Henry.
They would still have to share the suite though. Elina wasn't too keen on that idea, but then something popped into her head. She smirked softly as Vaan offered to clean out one of the storage or guest. "No thank you, Your Grace... that won't be necessary." She shook her head softly, studying Vaan. "If Henry wishes to continue to act like a dog... I'll just show him what it's like to be in the dog house. " The the words were calm and there was definitely a hint of something rather malicious in there. Oh yes... she was going to put him out on the couch until he decided to act like a real man take things seriously. No more running around after skirts. No more ignoring his duties as the prince. As long as he continued doing that he would be stuck on the couch. She didn't care if he fought nail and tooth. She was not sharing his bed and he was not sleeping in their bed till he promised her fidelity and proved it to her.

There was not much more discuss with Elina this evening. Vaan knew that she needed time to take in everything that had happened. In a single night she had gone from a simple baroness to the future princess and he knew that would take time, spent alone. He could and would give her that, he was still a father at the end of the day and understood the pressures he was placing on this young woman’s shoulders.
His son was most definitely a man whore but he had the feeling that Elina could turn him around. Yes he was certain of this. This was most interesting, Elina did not wish for a separate room away from his eldest yet loose son. His smile widened, enjoying the comment that followed her reply to his offer of having one of the guest rooms cleared out for her to inhabit during the engagement. She had spirit, fire and determination just what his son needed, a kick up the ass to make him change his ways. Elina was indeed the perfect candidate and choice for Henry’s bride.
Fidelity was something he himself strongly believed and practiced. Yes he had taken mistresses and lovers in the past but with each one he had only taken them to his bed. His eyes would wandered to other woman’s forms but was all. Vaan was not a cheat. “Elina, I think it would be best to call it an evening. You can return to your own suite tonight, your things will be moved to Henry’s suite in the morning” This was another olive branch he was offering Elina, a final night of peace before a stressful morning of moving and settling into a new chapter in her life.
Vaan pushed himself up and out of his elaborate chair, smiling softly at his new daughter in law. “Good night my dear” His words were filled with joy, and kindness before he left his private dining room heading in the direction of his own rooms on the other side of the palace.
