Chocolate pools studied Nix for a moment. Eva hadn't realized Arawn and Nix were so... distant with each other. It surprised Eva really. It always surprised her when she encountered people in such situations. It was because they didn't realize how important their parents were. They didn't realize that they could lose their parents at any given moment. Eva learned that the very painful, hard way. She loved her parents with all her heart and soul, but she never got a chance to say good bye. She wished people who took their family for granted realized just how lucky they were to have their parents. Eva would do anything to get her family back. She said nothing though. It wasn't her buisness. Not unless Nix chose to make it her buisness.
She nodded her head weakly. "I'm afraid that's exactly why he's so against my case. I just... I wish I could understand why. Obviously his brother is happy with my aunt. I just... I don't understand." She rubbed a hand over her face before running her hand through her sleep tousled locks. She was so confused. At first she hadn't realized why in the world Kevan Vulpe had despised her so much, but then she learned about her mother from some of the other court members and she had to question no more. The thing that confused her even more was how in love Bryan Vulpe and her Aunt Vivienne looked together. How happy they were. Clearly Bryan held no grudge towards Eva's mother. So why did Chancellor Vulpe hold such a grudge against Eva and her mother.
She looked up to Nix tiredly and sighed as her hand came down to her belly. "Yes well.. my family married into it either way." She commented calmly, thinking of her aunt. Maybe she could get to Vivienne somehow. Surely her own aunt would be willing to help her? She sighed and rubbed the bridge of her nose at Nix's question though. "Adrienne Boudoir knows." She was not happy about this. That bitch would probably go blabbing all over court by now. "Well.. more of suspects, but I doubt suspicion would stop her from spreading any vicious rumor she could think of." She looked to Nix after a moment, hating this. She almost wished she could just leave this island, but to do that meant risking her and her pups' lives. She couldn't do that.

Nix found it hard admitting out loud that she didn’t have a close relationship with her father. At least not anymore and it pained her to realize that. She had always known that since her mother died, her father was distance. Sure he raised her but he was always distant. When Nix got older and started her own life, it got worse. Being headstrong and stubborn Nix chose her own path going against everyone wishes and that just drove the wedge between her father and herself further and further. No one really knew of this because Nix tended to try and keep her things private. Even her own father made it that way and they seemed to keep their distance to themselves. The whole of court did not need to know that there might be a problem. When Eva’s eyes turned towards her, Nix could see the questions that flowed through her the moment those words had left her lips. “It’s not a surprise that my choices in life aren’t accepted by everyone Eva. Despite that, I know my father still loves me; things are just not that great. I’d appreciate it if you didn’t take this little bit of news and spread it through court. I know you won’t but it makes me feel better to at least ask just in case.” she added before sighing as the young woman tried to figure things out in her head.
Kevan was a man of vengeance and a man that didn’t seem to care what happened to anyone else as long as things were benefiting him. Nix to this day was trying to figure out why he did what he did to her mother. Not only that but how he still managed to stick around when so many people knew of his ways. It sickened her greatly but there wasn’t anything she could do. Not without either sounding crazy of breaking up relationships that were quite strong. “Perhaps he was the one in love with your mother? One would think so given how greatly he seems effected by this case so much. Now I know nothing about the man except what I’ve heard myself and what I know from what I’ve seen, however it does seem as if he might be hurt by it?” she offered not really sure about any of it. The young woman made a mental note to try and slip it into a conversation with Olivia the next time the two women talked.
The young lycan could only nod her head when she heard that Eva’s family already married into the other. It was unfortunate really but often times one could not control whom they were betrothed to or whom they fell for. Family came with it no matter how different a single family member could be from the rest. The moment her friend revealed that Adrienne knew whom her mother was, a sour expression appeared on the Lady Fairnix face as she partly scowled at this knowledge. That woman seemed to always rub people the wrong way. “That woman really rubs me the wrong way. I don’t see how anyone still puts up with her.” she sighed knowing it was because she was closely connected to the King. “As unfortunate as it may be I don’t think suspicious has ever stopped anyone before. But you shouldn’t let rumors get to you Eva, it’s hard but the more you allow them to control your life the more people will believe they are true." she pointed out knowing it really wasn't that easy. However Nix often denied just about anything people said about her. “If anything we can always have a bit of fun and take it upon ourselves to allow unfortunate things to happen to Adrienne Boudoir. Harmless, yet quite annoying if executed properly.” she offered referring to good old tricks. After all pranking and playing tricks on people was quite fun no matter what ones age might be.
