No one is quite sure how lycans came to be. One thing was for certain though. They came from the first Six Children of the Moon. Believed to be the offspring of Gods who disguised themselves as wolves and humans, the first six formed an alliance that came to be known as The Court of the Night. It is believed that all Lycan packs formed through the years are descendants of at least one of these six families.
The first born was crowned as the King of the lycans. The other five children, formed the five houses of nobility. The same five house of nobility that stand today. Of course, all the houses and the King had their differences. Some thought it best to keep the lycan bloodline pure. While others argued about the equality of the other races that existed among them. In order to keep the peace, the King and the five houses agreed on certain codes.
Since then the lycan court has the rise and fall of many kings and queens. The most recognizable was King Marcus the Just, he did see himself as a superior species. To prove this point he invited a local vampire to be his chancellor and also a witch to his personal chaplain. For awhile there was peace within the walls of his court but peace does not last forever.
Marcus is no more. Vaan is now king, he won the right to be called king. He unlike his predecessor can't stand vampires, dhampirs or anything that drinks blood. He believes the bloodlines should be kept pure. To have other races among his court? Disgusting. He banished any of Marcus the Just's court members that were not lycans as his first ruling as Reigning Lycan King.
He is here to stay and is waiting for you to join his court. Come inside, be merry and dance until your heart is content but beware what lurks around the next corner. A whisper or rumour could change everything over night.
There is an island, just a few miles below the Florida Keys. Through the years it has been called many, but the most prominent name it was given is Isla de los Lobos. The Island of the Wolves. The Spanish gave this island the name when the keys were discovered. Though the island looked as if the town that was nestled in it's cliffs and plains was a ghost town, and the towering Castle that sat above it all looked monstrous and dead, there was a legend of wolves that roamed the island. Those first few who explored the island, never came back. No one knew what became of them, but may suspected the wolves of Isla de los Lobos killed them.
Wolves indeed did inhabit this island. But not the type the Spaniards thought existed. These wolves were Lycans. Monsters of the night. Isla de los Lobos is the current home of the lycan court and has been for several hundred years. Since before Vaan's reign at least. The court has moved about through the years, but it has stayed on Islad de los Lobos the longest. The existence of the Lycans' existence on the island has only been known for a couple hundred years though.
Lycans come from all around the world to have their cases heard by the Lycan Ruler.
Will you find justice in the Court of the Night?
